Really nice drive by the Spidies. PAT looked like ishtay -- still just 25-14. Now the D needs to step it up.

Edit: Well, Richmond better be ready for a shoot-out if they want to win. I-State waltzed right down the field into the red zone ... just like that. End of the 3rd quarter.
 
Penalty then a fairly easy INT ... Richmond dodged a bullet there. Need another good drive to eat up clock.

J'ville State now leading 20-10, but at least it;s not out of reach.

Whoops ... Spiders scored while I was typing ... now lead 32-14.

Back to the TV in time to see the end of the Chas-So drive to pull to within a FG, 17-20.

HELL of an evening of FCS football!
 
They showed a stat; J'vill has 12 FBS trasfers PLUS 9 they recruited from the Power 5 and 8 from the SEC.
Tough to compete with that.

Yep. Chas-So gave it a good go, but they may have shot their wad. Not totally out of reach, but they ned something dramatic to turn it around.

Richmond now engaged in a shoot-out with I-State. Spider D can't seem to stop anything, but time is a bit on their side with the score 32-21 in their favor.
 
I have not watched much of either team this season. The few times I've watched Jville State, Eli Jenkins has absolutely impressed me. That dude is an athletic stud at QB.
 
I've watched these guys a little bit this year. They are a buzz saw. IF NDSU gets to them, game over....for the bison. The QB can chuck it and has wheels.
I'll St is down by 12 to Richmond with 2min to play. Winner of that game gets NDSU

Yep. They are now really starting to pull away.

Richmond just got a TD run from their stud runner, and they now lead 39-27. I-State has no timeouts left with around 2 min on the clock, so this game is pretty much over too.

Both games were pretty competitive for a long time -- great showcases for FCS. Even if only one of them was on a sorta-prime channel.
 
It's hard to tell how good any of these teams are as I haven't seen any of them play this year. NDSU (obviously I have seen them play) has proven themselves against all comers for 5 years now. I have a hard time thinking anyone will steamroll them. Could they lose? Of course but in my mind they are the team to beat for now.
 
And it's not over yet! That quick score by Chas-So makes it a 10-point game again and there's plenty of time left.

Oops ... well, maybe it is over with J-State scoring right back. Still plenty of time tho.

Oh, and the other game went final ... Richmond went on the road and knocked off I-State 39-27. Darn good game.
 
Eli Jenkins with another long run!! Hard to believe he was recruited out of HS as a Cornerback. Jacksonville State's coach told him he could be special at QB and he gave it a try. The rest is history. This guy is the Michael Vick of FCS football (on the field).
