Changes Needed at the Top?

....one example, when asked why so many of his kids chose msu over UM recently Sentinel coach Dane Oliver said its academics, kids want to be engineers
I dont recall which media outlet I read this on and that isnt an exact quote but its really close

Another example, a large part of my own family has switched their lifelong allegiances from Montana to bozeman after their son chose msu over um because bobby and co. just didnt care and Vegan and co. showed them that they were welcome and wanted. We're talking about a top 5-10 in state recruit here and after many camps and visits and a desire to play for his childhood team bobby was very cold and uninterested.
I cant blame my family for choosing msu. I would send my kids where they are wanted too
And reports from his time over in bozeman are that he is not alone. Many wanted to play here but either felt unwanted or felt theyd get a useful degree over in bozeman
So which is it, do they choose to be a bub because of academics or because they feel hurt by Bobby?

My first suggestion is quit living in the past, because things are the same.
Now I’m really confused? How are things the same? And if they are the same why is that more significant than what we’ve all been taught in school? Of course I did go to a parochial school so maybe that’s the answer?

There are like 6 players on MSU that are actually engineering students. This is excluding freshmen who will definitely switch majors. The players on the field Saturday for MSU are NOT smart kid engineering students. LOL.. This makes me laugh every time I hear it.

Small stockholders are not the board and have zero input into corporations. No corporation fires a CEO who took the company to the top the year before. Boeing has been going down for many years.
Boeing started going downhill the moment they bought McDonnell Douglas and thought it was a good idea for the MD execs to run Boeing...

Academics🤣 Only one of the 5 Spartans in Bozeman is majoring in engineering, the others are business and education majors….programs offered at UM. Rollins is a cat legacy who was never going to be a Griz, and Crews stupidity led to him losing his dream to play for UM.

Since Bodnar took over, enrollment is up, UM attained R1 status, research spending is at an all time high, the largest campus infrastructure upgrade in UM history is taking place, another UM student was awarded the Rhodes Scholarship, and as of 2024 the pre-med program has the highest medical school acceptance rate in the state at 74% (the national average is 41%). Bodnar has done an amazing job, especially when you take into account the disaster he inherited from Engstrom.
Look as someone in college I can tell you that not a lot of high schoolers are interested in UM. Montana State is extremely attractive because of what people see and hear. MSU’s campus is far better than UM’s and with the new $101 million nursing building going up MSU will now be ahead in another study. I don’t think UM will ever pass MSU in enrollment

Brody Grebe, Tommy, Neil Daily, and Adam Jones sure disagree.

Took you off ignore just to see if you’d smartened up any, and let me tell you, you don’t disappoint🤡
How much are you willing to wager that there will be a $101 million nursing building constructed at the Bozeman campus?

I am sure things have changed some. From what I see Bozeman offers more engineering type degrees that UM. But really if you want the best in Montana you go to TECH except those are somewhat subject limited. About 10 years ago my son was interested in a engineering degree. Which is the path he choose. At that time he HAD to go out of state to get a quality degree in his field.

Didn’t the lady Griz just recently beat the Washington Huskies….a Big 10 school!
You are absolutely correct! I enjoy watching the Lady Griz play. I like their up tempo play but this years team seems to be struggling a bit despite the win over the Huskies.

There are many disciplines under the term engineering. Civil, chemical, mechanical and mining just to name a few. Montana Tech in Butte is world renowned for their mining degree. Little known fact that first year Mont Tech graduates can make 6 figure salaries.

Your confusion is caused most likely by my fat fingers or my phone. They are not the same.

There are areas of concern, however, we should look at Bobby’s overall record at UM which is outstanding. He is a wise football coach who will right the ship.
I quit here. In-state blue chip players don't go to BSC schools. You really think 39 to a Big Ten school is surprising?
I was following along until that was mentioned. There is exactly zero teams in the big sky, mens or womens, that can regularly compete with bigger schools. That gap has gotten way bigger since the griz beat nevada

the loss of good athletes (even from our own backyard) to msu is largely due to ACADEMICS
(Zac Crews notwithstanding, he was black balled) Blame Bodnar for doing nothing to better the University, he delivers pizza to the student section, thats about it near as I can tell
Bodnar was a failing ceo of a flailing company. Not surprised at the result.
