Not surprising considering all the rumors flying around here last week
You have to sit out a year after transferring up, right?
Pretty sure that isn't the case for football anymore, but I could be wrong.
Not if the transfer is FBS to FCS, or the other way.

It was a great joke and you guys missed it!

I think we better not put the cart before the horse with Chalich. As a buddy of mine told me, he feels the GRIZ are likely to hire a new head coach that is a great offensive mind and leave the Defensive side to whoever he hires as DC. Ive not been given any specific names but expect a lower paid QB coach or OC from a MWC or PAC 12 school (with a similar work history as Pflu) to be the next HC. There is a good chance another FBS QB will follow the new head coach. I am sure one of the egriz researchers will dig up some names fitting that criteria.

Chalich is likely ours if we go with a head coach who won't be bringing in a drop down QB with him.

I've never understood this. Why not just say who it is? It's not like you're saying its for certain.

Because I don't have any specific names, yet. Was hoping another egrizzer might have more insight at this point. Even if I did have a name and he saw me post any names given to me before being given an okay, I won't get any info at all. Where does one go to find out how much OC's and QB coaches make at the FBS level?

Do we want a QB who got beat out for his job at what is arguably one of the worst, if not the worst, FBS programs around? Can somebody in the know say why we'd want him?

Hmm. Sounds like something he should just keep to himself, then, but who knows?

Well, Matt Lubick coaches WRs at Oregon, he used to coach WRs at Arizona State (just like Pflugrad), and makes $325k according to this: http://247sports.com/Coach/Matt-Lubick-455 Oregon appears to have a few young QBs with a likely starter already in place for next year (provided Mariota bolts).

Matt sure fits the profile. His price might be a little too high, unless we were to offer an attendance and bonus laden contract. :thumb:

So Chalich for Gus is a good trade?
Two QBs both with two years eligibility remaining. One has two years FBS PT with excellent mobility, running; the other almost no FCS PT and pretty much a pocket passer. From what I have heard, Gus has already made his decision to seek an opportunity where he can play. I hope he sticks around and gives spring ball a chance, but if we land Chalich it sends a pretty strong message to him. Shame on UM for not getting him on the field when there were clear opportunities over the last two years.

I've been wondering the exact same thing mikegriz. why the hell are people getting a woody over a player from Idaho? really? Idaho? the laughing stock of the FBS and yet some guys think we want him? if the guy can't play at Idaho then he probably should be looking to Chadron or Lewis and Clark College. I want to see what Gus and Simis bring to the table before I would consider an ex-potato chucker.
