You griz fans wine about us pulling out to play an FBS school that benefits our program in more ways than one. But , yet you pad your schedule with heavyweights like Panhandle State. I am sure all you fans enjoy paying to see teams like that. Of course, after a losing season it was probably a good move to play a patsy to make yourselves feel good.
The Griz never bought out of a game at Fargo. When we played them in Missoula, it was our last year in D2 and was a one game contract.
And.....it is "whine" not "wine".....who the hell did you have for English at MSU?

You all would be the experts in that "after a losing season...play[ing] a patsy to make yourselves feel good" theory, so we'll take your word for it.
Cringer, I do get defensive when dealing with people that have zero business sense. By the way these NDSU fans whine you would think the Cats by not playing this game is going to ruin the Bison football program. They just added Delaware State for their sixth home game. They are not losing any money for sure. They will sell-out all their games. All schools look out for their best interest. The sky isn't falling on NDSU. They will be just fine. Go over to BN and you will see that nearly all fans posting there don't like this decision including me. But, like I mentioned, an AD's first reponisbility is to do whats best for his school. I am sure the explanations will come out. I do understand that this is a business. Life goes on!

Becker what you fail to point out is that we played FBS U of Colorado the week before and beat them. Yes we lost to Chadron with Danny Woodhead one of the all time best college rushers now still playing in the NFL. I guess thats why we play the game. Strange things happen sometimes. You are right, the sky isnt falling on NDSU. We will be fine and move on honorably! This has never been about money or ppl with zero business sense? This is about being scared to get beat by the Bison, plain and simple. You can try to justify it all day long but it has nothing to do with money. I would bet that if your AD asked us for more money we would be more than welcome to give them more. MSU has had years to plan for this game. They just ran out of money six month before the game in Fargo?? Dont be so ignorant! You MSU fans need to contact your AD and get this thing going againbigsky33 said:

I am not holding MSU to a different standard, and I appreciate your faith in your AD. This is not a business this is college football. Bobcat Football would not exist anymore after those awful years late nineties early 2000's if this was a business.
I am sure MSU will provide a logical reason beyond dollars why it doesn't want to play the two time defending National Champion in their house. Heck, you should let your business school develop the 2014 schedule what an experience that would be!
The 2013 Cats will turn a tidy profit, but this is not the move a champion makes. I am feeling a whole lot better about this season.
Cringer if you don't think college football is about the money in this day and age you are totally naive. I suggest you have a talk with your AD. I bet he spends 95 % of his time on budgets and finances. Why do you think there is mass movement between conference the last couple of years and FCS schools moving to FBS? Do you think it's because these schools want to play different teams? It's all about the money!
Like I said,I am deeply disappointed that we are not playing this game. The bison have great fans other than the whiners that are on here. I too enjoyed it when they came here for the playoff game a couple of years ago. I was looking forward to going to the game in Fargo. I wish they were in the BSC along with SDSU and SD. On the other hand I don't know all the reasons why we bought out the contract. I am not going to be critical of this move when I don't have the facts.

So if the dakota schools want to play the montana schools so badly why did they decline the Big SKy invite?
We really couldnt care a less if we play montana schools. We care about reneging on a deal to play us in Fargo. You have bailed twice now. We honored our deal and went to Bozeman and played u guys. It's an honor and respect deal. As of two days ago we here in North Dakota thought Montana State would be the last team on the planet aside from the Griz to renege on a promise. It's absolutely embarrassing to think we used to hold the cats in high regard. You keep trying to come up with excuse after excuse but the fact remains that u are scared to get beat.billings_poke said:

The whole FBS Conference realignment mess shows that it is not about the fans or anything but a business now. FCS is not immune to what is going on and it will get worse as more FCS programs get squeezed in the cash department with fewer and fewer money games on the table from FBS programs. NDSU and Northern Iowa will feel that with the loss of BIG games. Times they are a changing and you are living a fairy tale if you think NDSU would not do the same thing given the right $$ circumstances. Hell had Iowa or Wisconsin called NDSU you would be buying out a road game on your schedule before the AD even hung up the phone. get real here.
Bison, your whining is getting old. You don't know the real reason why MSU bought out of the contract. Your making assumptions. Anyone with honor and integrity would not just disparage someone for something in which they really don't have the facts. You talk about MSU not having honor or integrity based on no facts,but I think it is you that is lacking in these areas.
