Cats are the sole winners?

Soooo do the Griz players have to give back their co-champ rings?

With the way the cats got humiliated in that game, they should be embarrassed if any of them even wear their rings. To a man (they actually do have a few of those on the the cat team, so I'm told) they know DAMN well who the true conference champion was. And it wasn't anyone wearing blue.

If they don't, then they're dumber than I thought.

That would be pretty easy to do

What... Humiliate the cats again? Pretty simple task, I mean, just look at them.

Just a simple question. Reggie Bush had to return his Heisman. Since the Griz can no longer claim a co-championship, shouldn't they return their rings?

I don't know about that, but it doesn't make much sense to keep a symbol of something that no one else recognizes. After all, isn't that why Bush returned the trophy itself?

I doubt any GRIZ player really cares. Everyone knows who won the conference title. Everyone will still know, with or without rings.

How sad it must be to hope for the NCAA to come in and rescue your team.

Rescue? Last I checked, MSU has a streak of 3 conference titles going (had '11 title before the game in question was even played), no investigations, and no sanctions. From what does MSU need rescuing?

It's ok if you don't want to give an honest answer. I understand. Deep down, you know what the right thing to do is because you love the game.

It would be right for Pflu, Tru and Kemp to give their rings to charity. It would be right for every msu player to give theirs to whomever wins the bozo city junior high tournament. And I know you agree with that, because you respect the game.

Oh, come on now, if you expect me to agree to that last part, then you wouldn't mind burning all of your co-championship flags of which the Griz lost to the co-champ? I don't really believe you agree with that. MSU earned that title before the game was played.

To the first part, you win as a team, and you lose as a team. You don't cherry pick the guys who made the most obvious mistakes and place all of the blame on them. There are many things everyone in the grizzly athletics department could have done differently, coaches, players, and administrators alike, to avoid these circumstances. To blame only 3 guys for stuff that had been accumulating for almost a decade is rather short sighted. Granted, their oops is the straw that broke the camels back, but this was about waaaay more than just tazer gate.

Wow. Well, I give you credit for covering all the bases to make your team look great no matter the situation.

FWIW, I hate co-champs. But I don't recall many of them that the Griz have where they got BLOWN OUT AT HOME by any team they shared the title with. I'll happily give any of those back.

Seriously. If any cat fan believes they won that conference title, it must be someone with the intelligence level of 25.06, or PapaG. I promise you that no cat player believes they won it.

For that matter, neither do the 7,000 fans on the Trail of Tears that afternoon.

Just like a politician... Dodge the topic and throw up smoke. ;) it's ok though, if I'm being honest, I'm really just poking the bear with a stick, but you already knew that. Lol

I just wonder what the reaction would be if the university recalled those rings. Would y'all fire up the torches and get your pitch forks out again for Engstrom?

I don't think he was dodging the question but my answer is no. Not only no but HELL NO. The cats don't deserve that title at all. That season both teams lost one conference game each. The Griz lost to Sac State and the cats lost to the Griz. If you wanna compare by points racked up UM lost 42-28. That's a points difference of 14 points. The cats in their loss lost by 26. So if the titles were handed out to one team it would belong to UM. How are you coming up with this idea that the cats won that in any way what so ever? 36-10 as a bigger ass kickin than 42-28

Because the Cats did clinch the conference before Griz/Cat was played. The cats deserved the title before the game just as much as we did after winning the game. It's because we won the head-to-head that we received the automatic bid to the playoffs.
