I was wondering about this. What about the recruits that have already signed papers? Does the change in head coach give them an out since they were recruited under him?

Very happy (and a bit surprised) with the recruits we have picked up recently. I don't see this as an issue and in some circumstances MD leaving may even be beneficial.

Excited at where this program is headed in the next few years.

I imagine that they could get out of it, since it would be an NCAA violation so sign any paperwork before signing day.

Really, I guess we're in deep doo doo for already signing Willy Pflug then...

He signed a financial aid agreement, which has nothing to do with the football team.

Sorry. That's what I was referring to. I wonder what the financial agreement said? You don't play for football team, we don't pay your tuition?

I know the family of a recruit who has committed verbally to the Griz. Apparently the Bobcats called Sunday night to see if he would change his mind now that Mick is leaving. That didn't take long.

msu recruits need to worry about Rob Ash leaving...

Totally different situation. Delaney was a temp from the beginning while Ash is/was expected
to hang around a while. Not saying it won't make any difference but I'm guessing our next coach
will come from within the system which should minimize any major recruiting transitions.

Is there really rumblings that he is leaving or is that just assumption that sooner or later he will retire?

I would think, from the outside, that Cramsey and McEndoo (sp on both?), would be acceptable to the fan base and the players...

Well, as a booster I think the consensus opinion tips toward Mac as HC and Ione moving up
to DC. I kinda doubt Cramsey will stay more than 4-5 years at the most, his roots are back east
and he's a OC for the Cats which means we go through them like I go through shoes!

He told the Cats he would let them know around 6:30 Saturday evening. :thumb:

So he'll still be a Griz then. Good to know.

Any verbal commitment made by either side(player or coach) is not binding. Once a player submits a signed National Letter of Intent which the University sends to him by certified mail,
the contract is in place. That is done on or around the first week of February.

I should have been clear. I wasn't saying the Cats did anything wrong here. Just thought the timing was funny. Happened within minutes.
