JP~you have so much Griz envy and hate it oozes out of you! Good for you, but the envy weakens the rivalry.

Please explain why I would be at all envious over a 5-6 season. Go.

Because its better than going 0-11? :thumb:

Dude, that was over 10 years ago. You guys have got to stop living in the past, bro.

People dont forget, and it will always be in your memory bank. But you probably weren't a big fan until big game mcgee made his appearance from Texas. Right?

But, I would gladly trade a 5-6 season rather than an 0' fer stuck in my memory.

Wrong. I've been there from every up to every down. I sat in a essentially deserted Bobcat Stadium for each of the home losses during the perfect 0-11 season. Don't assume that we jump on the bandwagon as quickly as Griz fans do.

And don't YOU assume that Griz fans are of the bandwagon sort. I would guess I was a Griz fan before you were born, and there were some very lean years for a lo-o-ong time, but I never wavered in my support of the UM athletic teams.

were you present in the two 'Trail of Tears" photos taken outside the litterbox the last two times Big Brother visited your nice little stadium?

I don't believe anyone posting that DM and/or JJ are not good QB's. They are both great to excellent QB's. One has one more year experience, and the other has yet to come close to his potential.

I would take either to direct any FCS team. Denarius has earned the acclaim he has received to date. I believe JJ will get that acclaim as well come his final season. GRIZ and Cat fans should embrace each qb, because it is rare each team has such good qb's at the same time. My loyalty is with the GRIZ. With that said, I always look forward to watching Denarius play for our hatred rival.

I am surprised how many fans just cannot give anyone any credit on your hated rivals team(s). When a player is that damn good, they have earned the respect. Both have my respect and support.

Yes. And it sucked. But I stayed till the end to let the misery sink in.

Were you present for the "we didn't make the playoffs" lamentations outside of WaGriz the last two times we won there?

Well said Mtgriz. I believe the cats would have fared much better last year against' Sam Houston had the team played as a team instead of DM trying to do it all himself...DM was what looked like the only player on the field for the cats at times, with a little help who knows....

Cat fans seem to concentrate on picks in this thread and I refer to turn overs. DM leaves the ball on the turf a ton. I do think he is a good qb maybe the level of Bergquist in Cole's Jr and Sr year but certainly not an Ochs. Not even close to Diskinson who by the way is a Montana product. I believe John Edwards won more playoff games tha DM. DM like his Head Coach just can't go deep when it counts, in the playoffs.

Ummmm.... Don't you contradict yourself in the last two sentences? You reference an empty cat stadium during a losing season, then claim the GRIZ are the bandwagon fans. That's pretty much a WTF moment even for you.

Isn't McGhee the only QB to ever win two games at WashGriz?

This thread make Griz fans look foolish. JJ is a very good QB, and hopefully can win conference POY for offense. McGhee is a a very good QB who has led Griz fans on their own Trail of Tears the last two times he was in Missoula. He even stuck around after the last game for this photo, long after most Griz fans left in the middle of the 4th quarter.

Yes DM was the QB for the cats in their two victories in WaGriz. The first victory was hardly an offensive visctory. In fact it was hardly a voctiry for the cats rather a loss for the Griz.
Last year's game was an anomoly with the Griz being in a state of trumoil due to a bogus rape charge and a gross over the top reaction by a weak University President. In fact last year the cats just managed to squeek out a win with very poor offensive production on the scoreboard.
It appears DM may have been the benefactor of circumstance for those two victories. Just examine the last game in the litter bax as more indicative of DM and it is obvious he was a non factor in that game.
Enough about this and let's just let the upcoming season play out and then examine the stats.

A touch ironic...just sayin'

DM may not be ths state college qb in the Griz-Cat game. It could be Roderick if he is as good as the press releases....

And the Cats have won two out of the last three meetings. DM has proved himself statistic wise and as a leader. JJ has yet to do that. Yes he had a few good games and he is a really good QB but hasn't acheived the levels yet of DM. He may do that his season but time will tell!

and JJ is 1-0 vs. DM. Would've been 2-0 if he had played last year, but I digress back to the ridiculous nature of this thread...

Shall we do this all day?

Unfortunately for you guys DM will be the QB this year. TR is playing WR. TR is one heck of an all around athlete and will be a difference maker. Next year he will get a shot at QB. Cats are developing good depth at the QB position with Bleskin, Dakota Prukrop from Texas and Mitch Greibeil who transferred from Air Force last year and was Colorado player of the year in HS. And now we add in the mix next year.

No matter how you look at it, JJ has lead the Griz deeper into the playoffs in one season than DM has ever done in his entire career at msu. But they are both excellent athletes.
