cat Griz Round Two

I'd bet that Belo is going to damn good next year with no Frey dominating the ball and if Adamu can develop a half way decent jumper he's going to be pretty good as well.

I would tend to agree but if they can't surround Belo with shooters, it wont amount to much. Also if he had trouble defending Samuelson on the low block, who he practically had to foul every time the ball entered the post in order to slow him down, he is going to struggle with Steadman next year.

This could just be my perception, but I feel like Belo plays better against everyone not named Montana. He let's the emotion and energy of a cat-griz game get to him, and you can tell because he wears it on his face more than any other player in this conference. As a Griz fan I'd be content to see that trend resume.

Great game last night for the seniors from Montana. It has been a lot of fun to watch both players grow over their Griz careers. I'm especially glad that Samuelson was able to return and live out his dream as a Grizzly Basketball player.

Finally, shout out to Ladan Ricketts. The guy is a great competitor and well rounded scorer. He has represented the State of montana well, even as a Bobcat.

Not a bad day for the Bobcats. Bobcat women put a whipping on the Lady Griz. Plus, a first year head coach Sprinkle with most all the players left over from the previous coach and a not 100 percent lame Harold Frey only lose by 5 pts to a very good, strong Griz team.
Well, to be truthful, MSU has a vastly better band and student section. But, the Griz are not a "strong" team. They are in a dog fight with North Colorado for the number one team during the season. But the BSC tournament appears to be up for grabs with UM and NC favorites, as of now.
Since the Griz are in a dog fight with Northern Colorado, Griz aren't a strong team? That is weird logic.

They are not Sprinle’s recruits. The others were recruited by Fish.
How many beers did you sneak into the game?

All the starters and most of the bench were Fish recruits.

I know that at least Adamu and Belo are Sprinkle signings, so this isnt true

Fish did the recruiting of both of those players. Sprinkle may have signed them because Fish was gone. But Fish did all the recruiting of those guys.

Belo and Paulo were technically Fish recruits, but still committed the team because they were most heavily recruited by an assistant who stayed on under Sprinkle. Adamu is 100% a sprinkle recruit. He was recruiting him at Cal State Fullerton

...sprinkle orchestrated a high school game...
...he got exactly what he deserved...
...held the Griz to under sixty...
...still got beat by six...

...faaak the caaat...

6 in a row and all of them relatively comfortable. Keep taking care of business and set up a big game against NoCo for the conference title.

If the Cats want to pat themselves on the back for a 5 point home loss where they trailed the entire 2nd half then I guess that just tells you how far away they are. Obviously Belo is a great player for them to bring back next year but they'll have some big problems if they can't replace the shooting they're losing.

Thanks for the vid. That’s pretty damn crazy. Was he pre-selected for this so he had time to practice?

The Montana pep band may not play all of the standard "pep-band-popular" tunes... Nonetheless, it is an outstanding group of student musicians which -- if you attend the games & take in their pre-game selection of tunes -- is very, very good. Plus, they're a wacky collection of kids who have a full-game blast as a slightly off kilter cheer squad. They lever let up. They're fun. Always have been. They're particularly good this year, with two outstanding rock-jazz styled drummers that push the beat. I know nothing about the MSU pep squad, so this is not directed at them. But for my regular attendance at Montana men's and women's hoops games, I'll take Montana any day.

Not Sure how he was selected, but had one minute to sink a layup, a free-throw, a three pointer, half-court, and full-court.

yes, but you have to go with the record. UM is not a strong team but strong enough for the BSC. What they did out of conference and in it gives a good picture. Next year UM can be, but I am wondering where the points will come from since three seniors are leaving that dominate the scoring. NOCol is a 3 pt shooting team and can rebound. If they hit those threes like they did in Pocatello, it will be a very good game. But, in the NCAA, face it, it is for the money.

Imagine my surprise when the best QB on the MSU campus is the dude throwing basketballs at half time.

71% of our scoring left last year too. Happens to every team.

Frey didn't have both feet set on that charge call.

Not part of the rule BTW. Just have to be in legal guarding position and not initiate contact to draw the offensive foul.

Technically, you’re correct. And far be it for me to put words in Rule’s mouth. But after seeing the plays I’m guessing what he typed was shorthand for “Frey stepped in and hadn’t established legal defensive guarding position and still got the incorrect charge call”. See, you don’t need your feet set, but you also can’t step in late in front of an offensive player on the move and flop to get a call. When that happens, nearly everyone who covers basketball says “the defender wasn’t set” or “didn’t have his feet set”.

So, LEARN THE TERMINOLOGY!!! As both were bad calls.
