North Caroliona Freshmen outscore Duke Seniors 55-51. So is Duke going to still be a #1 seed with 2 straight losses. Sure not hearing from swilly now

I don't follow basketball as well as I should, but it sure seams to me that the tides are turning in that part of the BB world and it looks like the next couple of years look good for the Tarheals and not so promising for Duke.

Does Duke have a strong freshman and sophomore team?

I know people say to never count out Coach K, but it seams that Coach Williams is in the best position. :twocents:

Sorry, GB1 -- we were thinking of two different things, weren't we? BUT, I definitely agree with you that Duke always "gets taken care of" by the selection committee. This morning on ESPN, the 'experts' were talking that the for-sure #1 seeds were Duke, UConn and Villanova -- and then there was some disagreement as to which school would get the fourth #1 seed. But, there was absolutely no mention of the fact that Duke has lost two in a row; it was like it didn't matter ... and, I guess, in their eyes, it didn't.

Yes the tides are turning in the ACC. North Carolina has one of if not the best incoming recruiting class next year. According to scout.com, they have the #1 point guard, shooting guard, and power forward in the nation and the #3 center in the nation coming in next year. They also have the Freshmen of the year this year in Tyler Hansbrough. I think they will be a force in the upcoming years. Duke will still be solid, but their incoming class doesn't compare to NC's.

I don't normally root for either Duke or NC (or any ACC teams), but, in a game between the two, I will also root for NC. I'm sorry, but I have little use for Coach K (among other things, he always acts like he and Duke are superior to anyone else), whereas Dean Smith and now Roy Williams have always run class programs at Chapel Hill.

I agree with that 100%. Everyone thinks Coach K is such a class act. He may have the foulest mouth on the BB court as anyone in the last 20 years, including Knight.

look for duke to be no better than 3rd in the acc next year behind carolina, and what will be a very good florida state team.

No, UConn should be #1, going away.

I meant will they get a regional #1. I don't think they should be Duke always seems to get taken care of by the committee
ESPN was saying that maybe now Ohio State will get the #1 bid backer. It was fun watching this young Tarheel team grow up during the season. And the freshman class coming in next year supposedly is better than this years crop. My only gripe about the Heels, and its not the schools fault is all the kids going pro before they graduate. Too bad the NCAA couldn't make some kind of rule where they have to granduate frist. But I know that will never happen. No one would of touched them this year if all their players came back from last year.

North Carolina is #10 in the new coaches poll, and were given one first place vote. Do you think that vote could have come from Coach K. he he he!
