Capital One Bowl Mascot Voting

Who ever Boston College when up against and won against wasn't using automated voting, schools most don't appear to be using it, however the top six are for sure, I have verified that (I throw 60,000 votes an hour for a three hours in favor of Cam the Ram yesterday, he only gained 2%).

That may be because Capital One has not counted your votes due to them being sent automatically. If they see 60,000 votes an hour come from that same IP address they are going to likely know something is up if they are paying attention.

The vote tallies don't get updated in real time, so there's plenty of time for them to toss out votes from IP addresses that seem to be generating them with a script of some kind.

From their Rules (Section 5):

"Any attempt by any voter to obtain points for a Mascot by any fraudulent or
inappropriate means, including without limitation, offering prizes or other inducements to
members of the public as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, by using any automated program, by using any other methods, will void those points for the Mascot and
voter may be disqualified as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
Submissions
generated by script, macro or other automated means are void and will not generate any
points for any Mascot."

So if they did in fact ban votes from your IP and others who are using automated methods, that may explain why Cam the Ram didn't end up gaining much.

Or maybe Capital One isn't paying attention and lots of people are using scripts for the top mascots...who knows.

I don't think its possible they are banning IP's. I was setup to vote all night for Baldwin and only gained 4%, but still the votes are being counted. The volume of votes that some of these people are pumping out is insane.

Apparently the Sparty faithful have caught onto this since they are kicking our ass, last time I checked it was 64% to 36% and now we are behind. If anyone wants access to the process we are using click this link and download the Adobe document. I have step by step instructions on how to set this up.

For those of you that wish to not get involved I respect that, it really sucks how this is setup, its an unfair system for sure but until Capital One changes it this is what we have to do to keep us in the running. I for one don't want to lose and I know many of you feel the same.

We gained a lot of ground today in the voting! We could still use more help from anyone interested. Its back to 51 to 49, Monte's in the lead!

I understand why, but cannot let myself be part of it.

Thats where I'm at also.

While I don't think the exposure can hurt, these lame ass marketing ploys like the Jimmy Johns at the stadium suck. I don't need my intelligence insulted... :puke:
