Theoretically, any course is great if you drink enough. Just saying.

If you want to test yourself over a few rounds, play the Missoula Country Club. While another poster says it's straight and unimaginative, I disagree. 3,5,8,11,13,15, and 18 either dogleg or have curvature that you must play tee to green. There are several holes where you can put it in the fairway but it's the wrong side of the fairway and you have to work your next shot. Greens everywhere are designed with an overall back to front tilt, that's just common golf architecture in order to properly accept an approach shot. Of course you have some side drop offs and a few greens with subtle tilts toward the back of the green. It's not a course you want to play just once though. Once it beats you up on the first loop, you want to try it again.
The only thing I don't like about football season is that it signals the end of the golf season.
Agree on the wind, however you can circumvent the Mt. Haggin breeze by grabbing a tee time before 9:00 a.m. You can fish the Big Hole and the Bitteroot on your way back to Missoula. That route to "Zula" is absolutely stunning. :egriz:GrizPony said:Missoula CC is in the best shape it has been in.....ever!. Other than Stock Farm (Charles Schwab's course in Hamilton) you won't find a course close to it in Western Montana for green speed and beauty. Everything is manicured to perfection. This is the year to play MCC if you are ever going to play it. I've been a member for 23 years and a past president and it represents the best you can play for the money. Old Works can be great, or truly shitty, depending on which wind is blowing out of the Pintlers on any given day. It is unique but the greens are slow and the wind is almost always blowing.

What a bitter old man! If you don't care about golf in Missoula, don't read the thread. What does it have to do with Griz football, an ASU fan coming to the game asked a simple question about places to golf. Get a grip.
:stupid: :dope:

I was looking at getting a round of golf in while out there and came across Canyon River. Is this a course you guys would recommend....or is there something else you guys think is better?
Thanks guys!
