Cam Miller - Tommy Mellot PreSeason Play

I don’t believe you. How many in Chiefs camp? I assume you don’t know. 8 receivers ran faster at Combine than 4.39. 2 at 4.38 and 2 4.37. Sure, dime a dozen. 16 players at combine ran faster than 4.39. 8 of the 4.35 and above. Sure, dime a dozen.

Can wait to see your list of Chiefs receivers who run faster than 4.39.
And on another note, number 1 draft pick Jeanty had 3 carries for -1 yard. I guess he goes to the practice squad too. 😂

Don't believe away. And yes, since you're a lazy asshat, I'll do your homework for you. Here's a list of Chiefs receivers (not all-inclusive as I got tired of being right and stopped looking) with 40 times considerably better or equal to the wine guy's:

Xavier Worthy: 4.21
Hollywood Brown: 4.22
Tyquan Thornton: 4.28
Mac Delena: 4.36
Jimmy Holiday: 4.40
Hal Pressley: 4.40
Skyy Moore: 4.41
Jalen Royals: 4.42

And they just released Justyn Ross who was a 4.3 guy.

Mind you, this is ONE team. And most of those guys will be bagging groceries come September. No shame. It's hard as hell to make an nfl roster.

Also, no need to apologize. We all knew you were wrong.

So, 4 receivers faster than Mellott. Note that I said "faster than 4.39". Even you said "Look at how many sub 4.4 WRs the Chiefs have in camp." Do you even know what "sub" 4.4 means? That means under 4.4.

Why did you list 4 receivers slower than 4.39?
"Jimmy Holiday: 4.40
Hal Pressley: 4.40
Skyy Moore: 4.41
Jalen Royals: 4.42"

Can you not read or not count? You are an idiot. That's why some in the athletic department have laughed at and about your for years.

You are the one who was wrong. You apologize. You continue to be clueless. You are an embarrassment even to yourself.

Good god dude

Great point. Look, I've seen enough of his speed and twitchiness to know he's a hell of an athlete.

But the nfl literally is fullllllll of incredible athletes. And next year, here comes another 135 incredible athletes. It's just so damn tough to even make a roster
This is a very astute observation. It’s damn tough to make a roster and how many draft picks don’t ever make the 53 man roster? Roughly 250 to 260 draft picks each year. 50% don’t make it. Yeah, that includes lower round picks. Mellott is a great athlete and he’s intelligent. Also a great work ethic. You could say the same for many of the NFL players. That’s why they get the big paychecks. I hope the kid makes it. Suspect he will be on the practice squad, which is a good place to develop.

That's exactly where another Butte native (Colt) started. Proved his value by displaying a great work ethic and eventually made the 53 man roster... albeit on a team that didn't originally sign him...

What separates them is work ethic and smarts. Tommy is a relentless worker and is smart. He has a chance and I am sure he will make the most of it.
This is simply not true.

The NFL does not cut incredible athletes at the same rate they cut those who are smart, relentless workers...and it's not even a close margin.

Having said that - I hope he makes the roster and the State proud.

No - Colt had NFL caliber skills and athleticism to make the roster.. his work ethic was a very, very distant 2nd - if even a reason at all.

Lots of hard workers will be out of the league in a couple of weeks.

The other consideration here is that the wine guy is changing positions. If he's up against another 4.4 guy who's played WR for five years at the highest levels in college, he's probably not going to measure up no matter how "smart" (all the players at this level are football smart) or how hard a worker (all the players at this level are hard workers) he is.

Colt was short, quick but not exceptionally fast and it was his motor that kept him on the practice squad and eventually the 53 man roster. Lots of hard workers may have been out of a job but he wasn't one of them...

Colt wasn't short. He excelled because he knew how to play the game, had very good eyes, got a jump on plays, was a very good tackler and hit hard. He didn't make mistakes. He also had huge desire and a great work ethic.

Exceptional work ethic, smart and hit like a Mack truck but by NFL standards he was a bit short at 5'10"...

Tommy Mellot was a disaster out there he looked as lost as a bub. Cam Miller on the other hand looks like a potential qb to take over for Geno.
