Cal Poly our Long-time Rival?

I started watching Griz football in about 1992, as a Cut Bank guy got a scholarship at line backer. Anyway, I went to GoGriz.com to sort of see who we played and Cal Poly was always basically scheduled. I am amazed at how long we have been playing Cal Poly. Besides our normal BSC foes, this has to be our longest rival?

10/1/1994 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. W 45-0
9/14/1996 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. W 43-0
9/19/1998 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. W 37-14
11/6/1999 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo W 28-14
2000???? No Data Gogriz.com
9/1/2001 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Calif. W 31-17
10/4/2003 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. W 17-14
10/22/2005 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. W 36-27
11/4/2006 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. W 10-9
9/6/2008 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Calif. W 30-28
10/10/2009 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. W 35-23
9/11/2010 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Calif. L 33-35
9/10/2011 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. W 37-23
10/19/2013 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. W 21-14 OT
10/25/2014 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Calif. L 21-41
9/5/2015 Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. L 19-20

Cal Poly came to Missoula in 1969, their first game outside of California since the tragic 1960 plane crash.

After all, they are almost next door. 19 games, 1969-2015, 15-4

Our real "Long-time Rival" is Idaho. 84 games, 1903-2003, 27-55-2

a) in 1969 we beat them 14-0. In 1971 we beat them 36-14 in CP. In 2000 we beat them 53-3 in Missoula.
b) We also lost in 2005 in Missoula 35-21 in the first round of the playoffs
c) We are 15-4 all time against them, but were 10-0 at one point and just 5-4 since.
b) check out this site for historical data related to all college football teams....it's much easier to navigate than gogriz.com.... www.cfbdatawarehouse.com

We did not have an answer for Ramses Barden, that guy killed us. Along with that RB that had 4 Tds
After we beat them in the regular season.

Huh. Barden had 3 receptions for 84 yards, and 1 TD. CP completed 8 for 130 yards. I think UM didn't have an answer for CP's running game, which got almost 300 yards. CP scored 35 points. Noble, the rb, had 4 TD's.

Poly is a great rival. You know how there are some teams you gotta hate (EWU, PSU), some you just sort of pity (ISU, NoCol and of course MSU) and some that are just...meh (Weber, SUU, Sac)? Well a few programs, NAU and NDU come to mind, like Poly, are my favorite rivals. They are usually good competition and are just interesting teams to watch too because of their styles.

Look outside of that one game, he performed very well against the Griz throughout his career I should have stated it that way, my bad
