Cal Poly announcers

I’m trying to figure out my favorite descriptive words used by those clowns. I have 2:

Muff on the face
Harry Potter wand

Anyone else remember some that were a bit funny or odd?

Sounds to me like I was lucky I could not get the audio feed. That said you have to give it up to Cal Poly for inventing a new way to broadcast a sporting event. "Single camera with an off centered angle to the playing field"

Some of the camera angles featured the part of the field where there were NO players, so we had to rely on the announcers to tell us was happening and why Cal Poly was so much better than the score indicated.

“Recreational” pot is legal in Cali, right? These guys must have been smokin’ some really “good s**t” to be that delusional.

This is a team that won one game last year and their only win so far this year was against mighty Brown, which hasn’t had a winning season in like five or six years. In five games, their defense has given up over 200 points. And in the four games other than against Brown (where they scored 44), their wonderful triple-option offense has scored all of 65 points.

But if, like us, you had no audio at the time (it came and went), you were definitely left guessing. We tried listening to the radio, but it was several plays ahead of the TV, which made everything hard to follow.

31-7 at halftime, but “for 5 or 6 plays, CP would be right in this!” I literally laughed out loud when I heard that.

I'm rewatching the game (FUBO let me record and I wanted to rewatch before I cancelled) and I can tell you that the camera work is horrid. The announcers, however, are no worse than many "homers" I listen to. Totally seeing things slanted to Cal Poly as much as they could but certainly better than the grad students at Western Illinois.

Extra point good.....barely. Lol

He wasn't wrong. It almost hit the post. I thought the main announcer was good and fair/neutral, but the color-guy couldn't hide his blatant rooting for Cal-Poly, which was kinda humorous.

After the Western Ill game (which was by far THE worst game by any cameraman in the history of sports) I was admiring the job by the Cal-Poly crew. I only recall 1 play where they couldn't follow the action, whereas the WIU crew seemed to be operating a camera for the first time in their lives.

Is there a link for the re-play/watch?

The replay is up at watchbigsky.com. The camera work and announcers aren't any less annoying the second time around, but I was able to watch the game continuously without it freezing over and over.

Were you watching on DirecTV by chance? Because all of us watching online only got a wide angle shot from one fixed camera for about half of the second quarter. It was bad enough when the action was on the end of the field we could actually see, but infuriating when the action moved to the other end of the field and completely out of view.

These are not Cal Poly announcers. They work for Eleven Sports.

This. The whole crew was picked up @ a dispensary the morning of the game & promised burritos if they held it together until closing time. Please don’t hesitate to voice your displeasure with this debacle the acting commissioner of the conference.

After CP first score down 17-0 a 7 yard run. "see Montana's defense is just getting so gassed already, Cal Poly if gonna run all over them"

Oh, Mr. Commish has been emailed. Not that anything will change.

#bsc.

I don't agree. I think communicating concerns to the commish and Haslam is the way to go. Haslam even more important than the commish. And, eventually, there could be some changes and relief.

In their defense, they did pronounce names better than the 11 year olds that announced last week. And last week was the only time I have heard a missed FG described as "Good! Right! Left!".

And compared to NAU's announcers, ours are pretty bad also.

I did notice good pronunciation as well. Made note of that during the game. Good call there. I love when they say A-kem appropriately and not A-keem. Means they care. And that's a simple one!

They obviously had done some homework, and had spent some time interviewing BH. All in all they were quite complementary of the Griz, they just made a lot of excuses for CP's performance, not unlike American announcers did for Tiger at the Ryder Cup.

I noticed that the camera was pointing at the video board in the stadium so I watched the game that way during the 2nd quarter.

Another funny thing is that they kept showing Coach Sacks on the sideline thinking it was Hauck.
