Butte's Dallas Cook offered by UM and MSU

Just don't tell his dad anything not 100% positive or you'll never hear the end of it. That guy...

Don't know much about the kid himself, but a good friend of mine from Butte that is really tapped into the high school network there says the kid's dad pretty much scoffs at the notion of him playing for either UM or MSU.

pretty much.

Last time I heard parents "scoffing" at the thought of their son playing for MSU or U of M...the son's name was....Ryan Leaf.

Yes, but just look how lucky the whole state was for it all!

Leafless is an ass. He always blamed others.

Dallas is a good kid. If he makes a mistake he takes the blame. And his dad is a good guy, just wants his son to try to be the best he can.

Saw Leaf at Big Sky about 12 years ago delivering for Meadow Gold. He was a lot bigger than I thought. I'm 6'5", 265# and he was bigger than me.

And this isn't my first post. My other name of gocats was coming up inactive, so I just used my real name. I don't think I was banned. I didn't do anything to warrant a banning. I'm not 2506 or the others that everyone wants banned.

Not true Rich. Everyone on this board knows 2506 is living in it's Mom's basement and it is going through a tough time trying to figure out which gender it really is. We do not want 2506 banned, we just wish the best for it and hope it can get it's life together and deal with it's Griz envy. I personally am not giving up on 2506 and think someday it can become the best woman, errrr I mean man that he can be. I am pulling for him/her. I mean it. Oh damn - just ban him.

Kid definitely has the talent to play at this level or higher, but with Weyer already committed and already having a lot of young depth at QB, I think our limited scholarships could be used for bigger needs.

Sounds like a good kid and a terrific talent. Id love to see him at msu, but I assume he'll go fbs. Good luck to him

Nice post, wbtg.

Dallas was interviewed on TV at halftime of this years East/West Shrine game, and he said he was offered by Wash State and Montana State. The reporter then, who is from Bozeman, asked Dallas if he was considering Montana state said that he was and that it was a nice school. He said it a couple times.

But in many eyes his star shines brighter than the FCS. I would be HIGHLY shocked if he didn't sign with a FBS school. HIGHLY.

EXCELLENT comment on his dad. I concur.

I know them and Dallas is a great kid. Not only a highly talented QB, but he is extremely personable and humble. I would kill to play WR for him. He finished ranked #2 at a very elite national QB camp, the kid is a stud.

He has gotten bigger since last season. Even the Shrine game accouncers commented on how huge Dallas was. His teammates call him Cam Newton.

Look. AG1 must be drunk or he's just stirring the pot. Cook has the strongest arm and best touch of any of the AA QBs anyway. He is big. 6-4 about 210 or so. I'm not sure he's all that fast but so what? Ala Tebow he breaks tackles and drags them along like toddlers. He most of seems very cool under pressure and has that attitude that he WILl win. AG just watch the last two AA games again and tell me this kid isn't a prospect. I have talked to his dad. A bombastic guy but funny. I'd love to have him in the NEZ, man makes as much noise as the student section. Lil bro throws the ball very well but he seems bigger and slower to me. Dad had a stint in the NFL I heard, but was a lineman I think. Baltimore? Anyway, Cook would be a great get IMO.

Cook throws jump balls, you are the one that is drunk if you think he has touch, he is one of the most frivolous QBs I have seen in years. Like I said earlier he has size and thats it, who cares if he has a Jamarcus Russell arm hes not that accurate.

Sorry but he wont do ANYTHING anywhere he goes, fell very free to book mark this post and use it against me later on down the road.

I cant wait.

If we somehow land Cook it will be like we have 5 lost schollys instead of 4.

You can't throw jump balls in Butte Highs offense. They very rarely throw deep. Its a no huddle, high paced offense that uses short quick routes and screens similar to the Griz under Read. Kid is very accurate. You can't be inaccurate and succeed in that type of offense and you know that. The kid, as intuative already stated, finished 2nd in the most prestigious national HS camp for QB's in the country. watch for him to set alot of records this fall as Butte High repeats.

Also, I know you don't respect my opinion and thats fine. But after the semifinal last year, Jack Johnson called Cook "one of the most complete HS QB's he had ever seen". I know you respect his opinion.

I am not sure why Alpha G is allowed to post on this board. Regarding Dallas Cook, his highlights from each game last year including the title game, are available on the web. Search "dallas cook highlights". Very impressive. I saw him at the shrine game last month and he is huge. A person familiar with him said that he now weighs 235. He looks to be about 6'4".

I've only seen him play once and that was in The Shrine Bowl a few months ago and I thought he played outstanding!! Hopefully he goes to UM. This kid could really boost the Griz into more wins. For a young kid he seems to really know the game and utilizes it. I like him.
