Why are they making us play at NOON on Thursday!???? Another disadvantage for the 1 seed. The one seed should play the evening game like in every other tournament

You mean like the ACC, where the #1 seed plays at noon or the Big12, where the #1 seed plays at 1:30, or the SEC, where the #1 seed plays at 1:00?

So you mean in all the conferences in which they regularly play early afternoon games?

Everett just likes to whine about the BSC and how they so mistreat UM.

I simply call out areas of concern rather than blindly pledging allegiance to a broken conference like some posters who are so afraid of their shadow they're not willing to reach for something better. (In this case something much, much, much, much, much better)

So which Conference is much, much better? Are you talking about the Big West and MWC, which get officials from the same place, do not have the Conference winner host, and mistreat their #1 seed by having them play an early afternoon game to open their tournament?

The much, much, much, much, much better place he comforts himself with is a tiny, imaginary, but very shiny place in the corner of his obsessive imagination. There, the cheerleaders are always topless, the refs take the form of hawks floating diligently above the action, and the deer and the antelope play ... without ever crapping in the key. And, UM is a massive institution of peerless academics and sporting prowess not seen since the great Library of Alexandria and the Coliseum of Rome. Not the shrinking thing is is now in an era on the very cusp of the death of big time college sport.

Topless cheerleaders..........sign me up!!!
To make this better, get rid of the male cheer squad.

So, if I am reading this debate correctly, UM is at a disadvantage for playing a noon game against either a team from the same time zone or even an hour later. hmmmm, ND should file a complaint...and don't forget day light savings time...geezus, maybe we should cancel this fiasco.

Why the hell all this talk talk about venue, game times, seedings et. al. We should all revolt like the French against the whole idea of a tournamnt in the first place. I mean, why?? This isn't the Big East or the Big Ten at Madison Square Garden, where attendance and TV revenue means Gold and Press for all the participating schools. This is the Big Sky at Reno in front of thousands of empty seats, capped off by a crappy third-rate TV deal for the championship.

The Big Sky should have one goal, and one goal only: Making sure the best team represents the conference at the Big Dance. And that team should be the regular season champion, period. That's our best shot at a win, and cut of the TV pot that goes with every win. And I would be making the same argument if Weber or Idaho had won the title.

Conferences remain tiny insignificant nobodies when they try to be like the big boys rather than marshaling their own best resouces for their one big chance at fame and money on a national stage.

Like the BSC did for Northern Colorado back in 2011?

I am all in favor of supporting this.

Whoever made the decision to move the tournament to Reno should be fired immediately. The neutral site location for the tournament actually hurts the best teams in the conference. It gives the lower seeded teams just as much as a chance to win as the higher seeded teams. It completely eliminates any home court advantage that the regular season champ or even the other top teams have in the conference may have. The teams that don’t draw well have now the same chance as the teams that draw well. If this tournament would have been In Missoula it would have averaged over 7000 a night for at least Friday and Saturday nights and given Montana the just reward for such a great season. Now it’s neutral court with the first game at 1:00 pm on Thursday with no audience either live or on TV. Lastly, the championship game is not on ESPN or ESPN2 but rather ESPNU. Someone please tell me how this decision to move the tournament to Reno (and Boise next year) is helping the BSC. Awful.

I think most people agree Reno was a giant mistake and moving it off campus sites was too...

It’ll take the 5 seed or below from our conference winning it and then losing in a play in game for the BSC to figure it out, they are lucky the top seed on the men’s side has won it both years in Reno

Like the BSC did for Northern Colorado back in 2011?

Ha!! The only time this third rate conference protected the one seed they had to vacate the title.

That was such a travesty. I felt worse for NAU than I did for the Griz though. NAU got homered even worse in their game against UNC in my opinion. Had a feeling the Griz vs UNC would be similar and unfortunately it was. The Griz vs NAU that year was what the championship should've been. Either Cameron Jones or Brian Qvale were going to the NCAAs....but the Big Sky refs had other ideas.

UNC shot 70 free throws over those 2 games.. Their opponents shot 36.

Baby Beitzel shot 27 all by himself.

I have no misconceptions that the officials were told to call the games that way, that there was absolutely no way anyone but unc was winning. The league was sooo desperate to justify Foolerton's Folly of admitting a bunch of schools who had no business being in the bsc. And of course at that point the only thing more dismal than all of their athletic performance was their attendance.

Finally they saw a glimmer of hope in unc, and they were not about to let it die. Too bad they hitched their wagons to the greatest cheater the bsc has ever known.

Wow, ummm, well how about we start with an answer any 5 year old could provide: less time to recover from the travel. Then we have the fact that the GRIZ don't play noon games, like, ever (except for that bullshit at suu). Then there's the fact that noon pretty darn early in the biological clock of 19 year olds then there's the fact it's difficult to play in front of NO ONE with no atmosphere

I could go on and on, but I'm still not sure you were serious in asking, sooooo....

You do realize the other team is in the same boat. It also allows the team more time to recover prior to the next game. And I think the recover from travel is laughable since they will have 2 more days off and travel, by plane the day prior. And the atmosphere will suck whether they play at noon or 8. So many f***[*] crybabies

Did the other team dominate all season therefore deserving the best chance to get to the big Dance?
