BSC Officiating

They do. Shawn Johnson's safety that wasn't was an example of this. Ash mentioned this on Cat Chat the following Wednesday.

Officiating is fixed before the season by the schools in the conference. If you want better officials, you have to raise your standards and pay better.

Yep, and better offseason training, better pregame prep, more accountability, and definitely better pay.

Bump for discussion after today's cluster f*ck. Bigsky33 made a good point in another thread that the officiating is shitty for all BSC teams. He is absolutely right.
 
There certainly seems to be little consistency from one week to the next. I wonder if they brought in a bunch of new officials this season due to retirements. This season does seem to be worse then most for some reason.
 
Every team in the BSC gets screwed pretty equally by these refs. You need to play good enough to win despite them. That is the bottom line!

Yep. I'm sure it just SEEMS like the calls are always going against whatever team one happens to root for.
 
The Big Sky should increase the pay by say 50% with the understanding that lowest rated 10% of officials will be fired each year.
Ratios may vary but the point is make the Big Sky a desirable place to officiate so as to attract better officials and continue to terminate the weak ones.
 
It doesn't really matter if the shitty calls equal out (they don't, in reality. There are always calls/no calls that affect games more than others). What really matters is that the GRIZ deserve better. Get us the F-CK OUT of this 7th rate, bullshit, rinky dink conference!!

It's not the usual bad calls, it's the bad calls on critical plays in close games and refs taking points off the board, e.g, Poly last week, Griz this week, and it's every week for somebody. At the end of this season let's restart the move up thread!

Yes, a job where you are highly scrutinized week after week, should have slightly higher pay than other comparable conferences, but less than Power 5 conferences, except that you trim 10% of the fat each year.

Yea what ref wouldn't want to work under those conditions!

Win decisively, and officiating doesn't matter. I know. Duh
 
So if Tonga Takai and Wags would play with no jersey the refs could call holding?...If Haynes would do a dance before being tackled in the end zone it would be a TD?If Ryan Burke had three arms he could have caught the pass because it wouldn"t matter if the defender was holding on to one arm....Big Sky Officiating is horrible and I pray for instant replay.... somewhere someone has got to be accountable!

They do? Seems like a system that would be more supported by conservative right to work advocates to me.
 
In any event it is when we lose we look at the refs.
Otherwise they all look like grey haired pot gutted old farts that have no clue as they attempt to keep up with the plays.
But if we win they get little attention.
If we paid them more we would simply have high priced old farts attempting to call a game.
Refs are NOT the Griz problem right now!
 
plenty of complaining about the refs but where is all the pissing and moaning about your POS offensive line. they are more at fault than anything else

Really? Two sacks given up for 7 yards. More first downs than ewoo. More rushing yards than ewoo. More total yards than ewoo.

I'd say the Oline did just fine.

And they're going to crush that softassed cheesecloth defense at bozo junior college.
