"Brock Coyle, LB
Coyle began the year as a key special teams player and a backup to NaVorro Bowman and Reuben Foster. But he’s been a regular starter during the second half of the season playing “Mike” linebacker allowing Foster to play “Will.”
Coyle certainly isn’t the fastest linebacker, but he’s proven solid against the run and has the respect of his teammates and the coaching staff for his ability to communicate as the signal caller on defense.
Coyle is tied for fourth on the team with 54 combined tackles. He would be a candidate to re-sign with San Francisco for depth with Malcolm Smith expected to return and retain the starting job he was expected to have when he signed his $26.5-million contract last spring."
