Easily the best LB on this team, and he was last year as well.

Criminally underrated by our fanbase.

I see Jordan Tripp as the prototype outside linebacker that the NFL looks at, has the size, speed, and athleticism to play at the next level. He's also got a knack to make big plays at the right time. Reminds me of Kroy Biermann's senior year, where in every game he had a sack or some spectacular play to help the outcome. Looking at Jordy not only is he 2nd in tackles on the team but he's got a sack, he's got 2 interceptions, he's tied for 2nd with a lot of guys for 2nd best in pass deflections (3), he's got 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 blocked kick. He just seems to make key plays when needed.

When you look at Coyle though, he's the workhorse, he's not as flashy, however it seems to me that he's more reliable in games to be in position, able to make a tackle, and this year he's added in forcing a few turnovers (2 interceptions). He leads the team in tackles, as a middle linebacker should and he's got the 2nd most TFLs. He's what you need in a middle linebacker, smart, quick, in position, and in on most plays. He's following in the footsteps of McSurdy and Lebsock but I think he's added to that position a more athletic range on the field, especially in pass coverage.

I really like all three of our linebackers, Coyle's hard work is really getting him the recognition he deserves, I hope he keeps it up all season long!

Brock had a very impressive day and certainly deserving of the award. The INT he had that sealed the deal for Montana showed just how athletic he is. He also showed he has a high football IQ and was impressive how quickly he could read and react to a play as it developed.

I think had Cal Poly hung on and won Nick Dzubnar would also been deserving of the award.

It looks like that one hurt! :ugeek:
It certainly slowed Graves down. He was gimpy the rest of the game after that hit, but showed he is one tough kid.

If that photo is your young QB I see why he was gimping. That left foot is bending in a fashion it isn't designed to go. I was very impressed with him. He played extremely well and was a tough one to corral.

His knee's are pretty tweaked too..

Brock is having a Caleb McSurdy type senior year. And why not. He mentored under Caleb. The front runner's for Big Sky Defensive Player of the year both reside in Montana in Daly at MSU and Coyle at UM.
