So you are saying Huot and Abbott can't play? Cam played pretty well in relief of Sneed a couple years ago. It is hard to make blanket statements based on one instance.
Nobody knows if they can play. What I do know is that Hauck trotted out Brown in relief of Johnson right out of the gate and when he said stuff like there's a depth chart for a reason and we don't experiement in games, that the three guys behind Brown were non-factors, and that included Britt. How did Brown do in the prior season in relief of Humphrey in the quarterfinal game at JMU? Why did we wind up seeing the third string guy in the second half of that game? Why did they need to find a quarterback, three of the last five seasons? Britt told you why he left. And I chose to take him at his word.
In fact, I wished Hauck would have had the sense to sit Sneed in the Weber playoff game in favor of Humphrey, for at least a couple of series, after he threw his second of four interceptions that night. But he didn't believe Humphrey could help him win, so he didn't put him in the game. See any kind of pattern emerging? If you're paying attention, its much more than one instance that that would cause concern or comment.
It's perfectly fine to believe in the kids, I think they play their guts out every game. I would hope that Huot, Abbott, Sliter, and Ah Yat can all play. It's just that I don't believe that they get everything they need to be successful from this staff. And I can't say it more plainly than that.
