Britt in the portal

This scenario has all the hallmarks of Gresch II, where the player demands of Bobby to be the starter for the next season or he is leaving. If so, I doubt there's enough humble in this kid to get Bobby to take him back.

Personally, I don't want Britt back. He is not the answer.

My take as well, once it came out that he was told he’d have to compete for the position next year…NOBODY should be “heir apparent” and every position should be fought for every week, IMHO.

They never had that conversation. He told them he was leaving because he wasn't being developed. They were in shock and still haven't recovered.

Starting to think you are Britt. Bash the coaching staff and everyone else at any chance and only give praises to Britt and defend him like he's your boyfriend.

Nobody cares about your “personal” opinion.
But way to denigrate another player again!

So is it safe to say that regardless of who it might turn out to be, we're on to the next savior at QB? Hauck 2.0 has had a transfer at the helm in every season, and 2023 and beyond will likely hold to form. I think the majority of us liked Britt. I really appreciated his balls-to-the-wall style. Go ahead. Make the narrative whatever you want it to be. Ready, not ready, under-developed, too undisciplined, and full of himself to be any good. It truly doesn't matter anymore. He decided to start over, elsewhere, and I wish him well. No reason to continue spreading misinformation or calling out someone else for lying.

The actual issue, is what it has always been. Position production. I'm of the belief that QB is the most important position on the roster. No matter how good the defense or specials are in a given week, without a good one in today's game, you aren't competitive. Without a competent reliever available when the time comes, it doesn't matter how many kick returns get housed. Is that guy on the roster or not? Two of the three currently rostered guys haven't taken a snap in a game where they kept score. If he already isn't, the third should be actively buying lottery tickets, given his incredible streak of luck.

I think it's reasonable to assume that "past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior, and the same is true of success." Bobby will doubtless continue to be Bobby, no matter how he rearranges things. And that's all you need to know about what's ahead for 2023.

Yes, Bobby will be Bobby, and the Griz will have a good qb for next season. If you think Britt could have led UM to the promised land next year, after seeing him in his limited action this year, then I don't know what to say to you. Yes, Bobby will continue to have a good team ready for next season. That's what he does. And some of you will continue to complain, because that is what you do.

Should we continue the decline to a 7th place finish in the conference next season, because that is the trend.

Key word there being “a”. And he’ll be right back in the same boat he found himself in this year, but without a defense with 3 consensus first team all-Americans to bail him out when that QB inevitably goes down for a couple games or more.

I think you make a key point here. If we are able to sign a portal QB good enough to be our starter, who will be our back-up QB? I can't see another portal QB, who is any good, signing with us if he doesn't think he will start for us. So, we are left with two young QBs who have never taken a single snap as back-ups, and basically are in the same boat we are in now.

Yep. We lose 3 of our top 4 leading tacklers on defense. Hard to replace that many tackles.

Since you weren't in that room all you have is your imagination or thirdhand rumor, either of which is false. My grandpa had a saying for guys like you, bullshitters always bullshit.
