Never gonna happen, ESPN is a business and they air what people in the majority want to see such as SEC, Big 10, Pac 12 etc.
Maybe, but it only takes a second to show your support for the idea

I don't feel like joining the cattle in groveling to ESPN. I can show my support for the Griz in a lot more productive ways.

How is this groveling? What productive ways? Besides whining about people trying to do something positive

This is so annoying. The GameDay thing gets brought up every year. This will NEVER happen. So many delusional Griz fans, its ridiculous. ESPN is a business.....what type of revenue/ratings would they generate doing a 1-AA/FCS game? They would probably lose money and have advertisers back out for doing something so stupid.

Wake up Griz Nation.....I'm a Griz fan like most on here, but there are times when its embarrassing to be a part of this fan base. This is one of them.

DON'T be Mr. NEGATIVE....If you can't support the Griz then just be quiet. As some point ESPN has to realize that there is GOOD QUALITY Football at the FCS level and MONTANA is one of the TOP PROGRAMS. :x :x

First, thanks for resorting to name calling.
Second, I believe ESPN does realize there is quality football at FCS level, which is way they occasionally broadcast our games on ESPN3 or gameplan or maybe ESPN2 for a semifinal game. That still doesn't change the fact that if it is a choice between Gameday coming to Missoula for a Griz game or to Texas/Oklahoma the money game is going to win out everytime. ESPN usually has at least 1 person in the broadcast booth that knows a little about FCS football as well. Every time a FCS program gets mentioned on Gameday, Corso mistakenly refers to it as Division II. But hey sorry you thought I was a dick. If the write in campaign on FB gets ESPN to send Gameday to Missoula I'll buy you all you can drink at Reds.

More productive ways to support the Griz: Attend every game, scream until my voice is hoarse, pay my always rising season ticket prices, spend $40 at the stadium in food and drinks for me and my family, buy and wear shirts, hats, coats, gloves, sweatshirts with Griz logos...and on and on. Try to convince my snobbish East Coast and Southern friends that FCS football is pretty good and the Griz are one of the best at playing on our level.

I'm pretty sure ESPN does realize this, WHEN it first their programming needs, ala the FCS playoffs. They have paid for lights just to broadcast several playoff games in Missoula. However, that doesn't mean ESPN has the NEED to broadcast the most watched college football pregame show in the world to Wash-Griz. It's just not likely to happen. And I'm not sure how being realistic about what the worldwide leader in sports does with their programming has to do with being supportive of the Griz....

Looking forward to that beer. I don't know about you but getting SHOVED on to ESPN3 that most people don't get isn't success. Montana/App State game should have been on ESPN2. Coros is a REAL DICK if he considers FCS as DII (he needs to come here and be schooled). I am SICK and TIRED of "big" (over compensating for something) FBS schools thinking they can shove the rest of the country around, $$$$ is the problem not the solution here.

June 17, 2011. West Virigina fans make "Bring Gameday to Morgantown for WVU vs. Oklahoma" page. Currently: 3,674 likes after 14 MONTHS

September 15, 2012: Montana fans make "Bring Gameday to Griz/Cat" page. We will have that number in 72 HRS of less.

Just to make ropermp and tgriz happy I donated a second of my time and "liked" the idea on FB of Gameday coming to Missoula. I'll buy them shots if it happens.

RoperMP, guess I'm just a little cynical. Also, tired of my friends and family from other parts of the country not having a clue football exists outside of the BCS. Cowherd, Corso, May, and others from ESPN love to bash the little guy in college football. Heck they haven't even given respect to Boise St, despite what that school has accomplished. Cowherd attended Eastern Washington and he is the worst as far as non BCS or FCS bashing. If Gameday comes here I'll not only buy you a drink I'll help make a sign about Corso, knowing him he would put on the Bobcat headgear during the game perdiction.

Well, if Montana was an FBS program where they belong.....

Ahhhh, c'mon. You knew it was gonna happen sooner or later anyhow.

Everytime that the gameday crew discusses anything FCS, they seem uneducated and out of their element. Hell, they will only talk about a lower FBS conf if their intent is to run them down vs a top 25. The only snootier show than gameday is everything BTN. If the BTN could get away with showing only half the field and not show any pics of the FCS opponents during BTN games, they'd do it. Half time shows are more biased than the games. Hard to even watch for me . . . Paints the B1G in a pretty bad light as far as im concerned.

Really? ESPN is not a non-profit company. They aren't "shoving" anybody anywhere. They should televise the games that are going to get the best ratings and give their advertising customers the most exposure to the most viewers. It's all about the viership and FBS games drive much more interest than an FCS game will, even if it is App/UM.

ESPN has increased their televising of the FCS playoff in the last couple years. That's a testament to some of the great games they've had such as the UM/App semi-final that produced good ratings and national interest. I see that as success.

Much of the nation is of the opinion that FCS is Division 2. That is the perception....right or wrong.

Didn't Gameday happen at Harvard/Yale a couple years ago? Seems like they were at a SWAC location at some point too..

Check out the facebook page trying to build support for bringing College Gameday to Cat/Griz. Chances are probably pretty slim, but would be cool! If not this year, College Gameday should definitely do the App State game!

It would be cool, but we would have to hope they didn't see our WA Griz pressbox or the lockerrooms. Or talk to florio.
