He was a walk-on and unsatisfied that a schollie wasn't made retroactive. Understandable.

Kem, you do realize that Salmonfly is simply trolling Griz nation?
In no way am I trolling! I sent the tweet to another user on Twitter and it is now posted on this thread. I may be new here but I love the griz and I love Griz nation! Fight on.

Best of Luck going forward Mr. Buschini, we will all be cheering for your continued success.
Once a Griz, Always a Griz.
And please remember that there were several walk-on Montana boys before you that enjoyed FCS (1-AA) success and NFL career success.

I haven’t used this site in the past. I have the pic but when I try to post it brings up a non working hyper link or just says image. I may not be up to date on my computers but I feel like this site is even further in the past than me

I could care less if he has success after that tweet.
Ingrate is not a flattering look on the way out the door.
Nope, it is not. Was going to let this die. But here's a few more thoughts. His punts were great, no question about that.

But he and the Griz led several other ST categories because (1) the unit protected him well (I don't recall many cases where he was hurried ... but I could be wrong), and (2) the coverage guys forced a lot of fair catches or squat returns. None of what has come out has acknowledged the skill and hard work of his ST teammates. Maybe it's there behind the scenes, but we've not seen it. Kicking the ball is only a part of the "kicking game," even if it is (obviously) the key part. FWIW, long snapper comes to mind as another key part. It will be interesting to see what level of support he finds at Nebraska.

He's been scrubbed from the program, so yeah, I'd say there are some hard feelings after that tweet.

Wow! Such a bad look.
It's standard practice, the GoGriz removes players from the roster page as soon as it's obvious they are not coming back. It's been like this for quite a few seasons. I don't think it's personal as they do it with every player.

Sask, I wasn’t referring to UM.

This is the first time I've ever seen the team go back and remove a player that transferred after the season is over. He wasn't just left off the 2022 roster (which is already up), he was removed from the 2021 roster. He also was not mentioned at all in the Hero Sports All American article where he was first team punter. No mention of winning punter of the year. This is very much not how they've handled this before.

Also want to mention that I don't blame UM for doing this at all. Gave the kid the chance to walk on and earn a spot, and then he shits all over them as he walks out the door. Not a good look at all.

So, let me see if I’ve got this: Kid was offered NO scholarships out of HS, given a preferred walk-on offer from the best university in Montana (with the opportunity to earn a scholly), earned Punter of the Year (and most likely a scholarship offer next year of some sort), and decides he should get RETROACTIVE money? And because he didn’t he bolts?

don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya, Boomer.

:thumb: It's getting cold up here, my brains slowing down.

I can help with this bit. Pretty wild 24 hours for Brian. Just as the Nebraska basketball team is about to get penalized for some sort of violation, too.

Edit: feel free to delete this message since I can't on my end, and someone else has already posted my image from the AGS punter thread before this was approved. I don't want to be seen as some troll, and hopefully I can contribute something insightful later on as my first post.

I screenshot that tweet too and sent it to a friend. Don’t know what to make of it

Before this gets too crazy, I’ve had a chance to talk to Brian a bit directly. I’ve chatted with him on social media before, and we’ve chatted about the transfer opportunity.

He has had some tough times at UM and has struggled with depression at times. The fact that he is married now factors into this as well. He is now financially responsible for he and his wife and there were concerns about not having an opportunity at a full scholarship. That was a huge part of the decision. Finally there were concerns that he would not be allowed to train a lot with his kicking coach in the summer which he was worried would hold back some of his abilities. He just wants to do what is best for him and his family. He loves Griz Nation and doesn’t want anyone thinking less of him.

He told me I could fill everyone in here. Hope that helps.

He doesn't want Griz Nation to think anyless of him but he puts out a tweet running down the Griz coaches and program. Those two things don't make sense.

+1. Why run down the coaching g staff and program on your way out. When you leave a job it’s the expectation that you do so gracefully regardless of your feelings. Thank the company, shake the bosses hand, and wish them well on your way out to ensure you’ve left that bridge in tact rather than burning it . Brian just burned his.

Since you have a connection, and are filling everyone in, maybe you could ask Brian if he or anyone in his circle contacted or was contacted by Nebraska prior to entering the transfer portal? Just to fill us in…Griz Nation includes his coaches as well. Shi**ing on his coaches on the way out the door is not the love of Griz Nation I would expect..
