Don't know if this has already been posted but he did end up winning FCS Punter Of The Year.

Montana's Buschini Wins FCS Punter of the Year
Buschini was chosen from a field of 10 semifinalists, which included Daniel Whelan of UC Davis and Sam Clark of Sacramento State.

AUGUSTA, Georgia (Dec. 13, 2021) - After a great first season at Montana, Brian Buschini was named the FCS Punter of the Year, the Augusta Sports Council announced on Monday morning.

Buschini was chosen from a field of 10 semifinalists, which included Daniel Whelan of UC Davis and Sam Clark of Sacramento State. The honor is the second overall for the Big Sky in the award's history, which began in 2019. Northern Arizona's DJ Arnson became the first from the Big Sky to win the award this past spring.

Buschini, a freshman from Helena, Montana, ranked third in the nation this season with his 46.0 average on 69 punts. Buschini's 46.0 average also broke Montana's single-season mark, which was set in 1985. Overall, 28 of his punts were over 50 yards, with a long of 62 on the year. Of his 69 punts, 30 were inside the 20 and 25 forced fair catches.

The winner was determined by the FCS Punter of the Year Award national voting body which consists of FCS sports information directors as well as national sports writers.

Did you mean to imply that BH's style of play means too rarely finishing a drive?
It relies heavily on field position and not giving his defense a short field to defend.

Welcome to sound football strategy. Bobby's a great football coach on the field. Off the field, hubris is his achilles heal imho. Better to have pride than to lack it.

He’ll probably kick an ass or two . . .

So you want to call him out and pretty much blame him for how the game went?
HHB, your problem is you like to contradict every single thing someone on here posts. It's annoying. You do it to me all the time, and pretty much everyone on this board about literally any topic. It doesn't matter if it's this or anything else, it's what you do and it's extremely annoying.

Hauck wisely picked Rohrbach, the better punter, instead. He knew the risk with Buschini. We have the kid from Billings Central as the future place kicker.

I was able to watch in person both Buschini and Rohrbach play in about 6-7 games each this year. R-E-L-A-X…
You will not see a lot of drop off in distance with Rohrbach. Time with BH will fine tune Rohrbach’s skills. I will say that Rohrbach is an athlete and has a strong, physical frame. If not for a mutual decision early on in his high school career to devote everything to kicking he could have played a lot of different positions at Glacier. I wouldn’t rule out him doing the place kicker duties as well down the road. The 51-yarder I watched him kick against Butte was on a very cool, wet night. I’ve watched him boot 50 yarders during practice with a consistent ease. We are in good hands, and could probably be looking at the same problem in two years..

I too know both of these guys very well, both as players and family friends to my boys. You are correct and I think Rohrbach will fit in well and has great potential. My son has played under Hauck for 3 years now and I find it unlikely Rohrbach would not redshirt next year. Maybe backup on the two deep chart at punter. Hauck will probably want him to mature and put muscle weight on him. Its his MO for specialists. As I said earlier, my prediction is the coaches bring in a pickup out of the portal for at least a year. Similar as they did with Macias. But hell, I've been wrong a lot when it comes to predicting what Hauck and assistants might do. This is just their pattern.

Regarding placekickers, I didn't know Capser at all until this year and watched him kick for the first time. Holy hell, not sure people on here understand what we got in that kid. Last year here on eGriz everyone anointed Capser as the heir apparent. No one knew he tore his ACL and needed surgery. It took a year of maturity, healing from surgery, and he's put on 15 lbs of muscle weight. He's 6'2" and powerful long kicking legs that literally whip. I almost never get excited about a younger player, but I was impressed when I saw him kick just before last Friday's game. I watched him at fall camp and he was no where near ready after surgery, but he has clearly recovered and hit the weight room because his kicks were higher and deeper than Macias' were.

He just committed to Nebraska. Seems like UM is now the farm system for Nebraska. And the speed that happened tells me it was in the works a long time ago. Not sure I like that part.

The NCAA has made some assurances that they are working on protocols to limit pre-portal contact. I don't believe it for a moment, but as long as the system is set up as it is this is going to happen quite often. I honestly don't think they can, because much of it is occurring between intermediaries, there is no real way to stop your private coach from having conversations with a 'family friend' about a pupils availability.

This is one of the pitfalls of the system as constructed (FCS as farm clubs) and Bobby made it clear: He wants players who want to be here. If not, get the heck out of town.

Yep you’re spot on. I did love Bobby’s fiery attitude in that comment.

Brian just tweeted and quickly deleted a Tweet saying UM didn’t develop him. That his private coaches did. Says playing at UM is nobody’s dream and that maybe if he were treated better he would have stayed. Don’t know how to post the screen shot.

So we'll get a year of him before he heads off to Nebraska.

He was a walk-on and unsatisfied that a schollie wasn't made retroactive. Understandable.
