Brian Buschini in transfer portal

Hard to imagine he will find a better ST/ kicking coach than Hauck. Tough to see him go. I'm not thrilled about this.

Pure speculation on my part, but the optics/timing of tweets has me thinking athletes these days aren’t hitting the portal without someone from their inner circle having had conversations with potential landing sites.

FCS = Farm Teams

It can be a tough pill to swallow for us, but this is the truth. Some of us just can't fathom the idea that not every player dreams of playing at UM. There's a big world outside of Montana.

I still have an overarching desire to kick Kurt Flood in the nuts right now. That would more than likely include a lot of digging so I’ll just file that away in the “maybe” file for now.

Brian would like to pick his school by the end of the week. Buschini said besides Nebraska he is also considering Mississippi State, Utah, Oregon State and Washington.

Fixed it for you.

Texas is offering $50,000 to be a Longhorn. There is nothing that says that couldn’t be $100000. USC, Ohio St, etc… will be opening their checkbooks too.

Any stud player anywhere is liable to be poached. FBS schools like Wyo, Utah St, App St, etc… will be losing kids just as much as any FCS school

BINGO!! ⬆️ This is something that the NCAA needs to address. I am no expert here and know just enough to get in my own way, but the portal was put into place so players entering can start their recruiting process with new schools and have zero waiting period to play either by dropping down or moving up. It’s a violation to do so before then. We are hearing that combine and independent camp coaches are filling that gap before a player enters the portal. It’s an “end around”. Hard to know for sure, but it’s interesting that offers are coming down literally minutes, or within an hour or two, after a player enters the portal.

:cry: All of us with a few years under our belt truly respect that comment!

Not only Power 5 conferences. Hell, Dione Sanders literally put out a tweet inviting interested kids to contact them about transferring in. Imagine if you are a kid who thinks he is pretty good, and he has been "informed" that he can get a $100K NIL deal just by being on the team of University of X.... What kid wouldn't take a good hard look at that?

Buschini, Rohrbach and Casper all have been students under Dylan Torgerson kicking and punting for several years.
Their level of play speaks for its self.
In fact most all of the top kickers in the state have worked with Torgerson. He played for flathead many years ago and then for Carrol College!
He is an excellent coach, working with high school up to pros.

Is UM really such a back woods program that players feel they got to move on to get exposure? Doesn't seem correct to me. I guess the coaches are going to have to start kissing the top players asses so they won't move on. This really sucks.

Many people only follow fbs football.

Purely speculation here as I have given up trying to predict what Coach Hauck is going to do. My son loves playing for Hauck, but he does a great job keeping even the players on edge and not knowing roster details. In looking at this punting situation, I imagine they will bring a transfer in that is (1st) a punter with experience, but is a combo kicker (2nd) and can backup placekicking duties. Gilman has struggled all year and is frustrated. Capser is an animal with a leg to boot and has healed up from ACL surgery. Excellent choice to replace Macias and he's already in-house. Hauck typically like to give specialists a year or two to put some muscle weight on, so I'm not expecting Rohrbach to dress his freshman year. He may backup punter.
