There's nothing stopping him from going back up though. I believe his prior transfer counts as his one-time transfer exemption which would require him to sit out unless he's graduated, but I'm not totally sure of that.

For people pointing out that they think the FCS is bad with top players transferring, it's no better anywhere else. Look at the P5 right now. Spencer Rattler, Bo Nix, Ohio State's freshmen QB, Auburn's Running Back, LSU's QB and RB. It doesn't really matter which level it is. The top kids are always gonna be on the move.
