Brian Buschini in transfer portal

Who did not anticipate this

FCS the minor league feeding the moneyed programs.

Appreciate what he did for us. It’s his choice, wish him success

I can't help but think that his wife (recently got married) played a part in this. I've heard she's kind of a big city girl after talking to some of my friends who know him and her, and now that their married, she probably wants to start a new life with him somewhere that's not in Montana. Don't get me wrong, he probably does wanna play FBS as well and try to win the Ray Guy award, but this definitely does feel like a decision that was made by both of them.

Tough loss… kid was a stud. We lost a stud lineman to the SEC this spring. Half of you wants to be mad but the other half gets it. If only these kids knew that it’s our dream too 🤪

Well that sucks. Not every day you see a kid from the state of Montana leave an in-state school to try and go FBS. Looks like the only other punter we have on the roster is Carver Gilman, the kid from Whitefish. I would imagine Bobby will definitely bring in a transfer this offseason.

Got a punter that’s signing on Wednesday Rohrback from Glacier.
That's right, I forgot about him. How good is he?

Can’t fault a kid on one side of the coin when we’re happy to take drop downs on the other side of the coin.

Honestly, why does it matter?

unfortunately I heard something, we might lose an even tougher pair of shoes to fill. while the portal has helped up more to date I am not sure how much longer we will be saying that.

I will say Bobby is great at developing special teams, this is a loss but he will be able patch the hole.
I'm sure BH is smart enough to have anticipated this. Bushini's an all-world punter. It was probably prominent in the Rohrback offer. He preferred him over Kautzman because of his punting. A good punter is very important to BH's style of play.

I think I heard the same thing. Wait, what did you hear, specifically?

Let me guess……Does his name begin with “F”?

This will be the norm.

I hate to see the FCS become a farm system for FBS. But I definitely understand his desire to play at the higher levels I think this is a kid that will definitely play on Sundays.

Is UM really such a back woods program that players feel they got to move on to get exposure? Doesn't seem correct to me. I guess the coaches are going to have to start kissing the top players asses so they won't move on. This really sucks.
UM has an excellent football program, but it is a FCS school in a FCS conference.

Yep. The reality of the minor leagues.

This is where we are at. Good luck to him. Would have been incredible to have the guy for four years, but it is hard to fault the kid after the year he had. Pair that with the incredible season Matt Araiza had at San Diego State, not sure that Buschini's stock could have been any higher.

That being said, there is likely going to be a coming crack down by the NCAA on pre-portal contacts. All schools were given very clear operating rules as to how to contact students, and lets just say that hasn't been observed one iota by many FBS Power 5 schools. This complaint isn't coming from FCS schools but rather Group of 5 schools who feel like their good players are being poached mid-season by larger schools. Basketball is apparently absolutely brutal as well. Heard some things about how some larger schools are using AAU coaches as an intermediary to gauge their interest. I think some regulatory adjustments are likely to come within the next year or so to ensure schools aren't tampering.

This is the logical outcome of the free transfer and smaller schools are going to have to adjust. I am all for giving players the freedom to transfer. Again good for Brian. Best of luck.

Maybe our fiocus should be on having an offense instead of on a punter bailing them out. Remember an old saying: If you're spending a lot of time practicing your kick returns maybe you should focus on your defense.
