Ahem, once again, what NFC player did more this last weekend to win a game than Brett Favre?
- None.
Go Pack!
Tony Romo
Incorrect!
Tony Romo has a running game to help him with Julius Jones and Marion Barber IIIIIIII. Look at this:
Jones/Barber combined: 888 yards and 8 rushing TDs
Entire Packers running game: 574 and 5 TDs. And 203 of those yards and 4 of those TDs came from DeShaun Wynn who is out for the season. The Pack's current starting RB is their 4th string guy in Ryan Grant
So Green Bay only has 1 rushing TD from an active player, Dallas has 8.
Also, Romo to Favre head-to-head:
Favre, 93.3 rating, 2406 yards, 66.6% completion, 13 TDs / 8 Ints
Romo, 100.4 rating, 2306 yards, 64.4% completion, 19 TDs / 10 Ints
A close call, again look at the supporting cast, Favre has 1 veteran, a 2nd year player, a rookie and an emerging TE to throw to. Romo has three veterans in TO, Crayton and Whitten. Romo's got two pro-bowlers to Favre's one (although a case could be made for Jennings as well as Driver).
Also at the schedules Romo has had 6 matchups against easier/weaker teams on defense (Miami, Chicago, StL, Buffalo, Minnesota, Phily) and only 2 games against teams with tough defenses (NE & NYG)
Meanwhile Favre has had to play 3 games against teams with easier/weaker defenses (Phily, Minn, Chicago) and 5 against temas with better defenses (NYG, San Diego, Wash, Denver, KC).
I think it'll balance out, the Pack has games still against Minnesota, 2 against Detroit, Carolina, StL & Oakland - all teams with defenses that aren't that great.
