We'll see what fall camp shows us - going into it I'm thinking Goodwin at corner is going to really bust out as a lock down player and Walcott at WR or maybe even Pierson at TE are going to really make a splash.

Fall camp won't show us anything because the practices are closed.

We have 3 scrimmages and multiple reporters in site to give us updates though

Holmes & Van. We got a taste of what Holmes could do last year, should be even better as a starter and a whole offseason to improve. I'm excited about the speed Van seems to bring and should be a key part of the offense.

Offense -- Poole, I know, not stat producing position, but I think the recent events in his life have left him hungry for pancakes.

Defense -- Owen, even though he's listed as a back up at linebacker, I have a feeling he's going to be all over the field.
I like the way you think. Poole might wanna get his name taken off that list that he put himself on last season.

When I read the thread title, before I opened it, I thought to myself...Walcott and Goodwin.

But man, there is a lot of possibilities for sure! I watched the news tonight of the Griz first practice, man Canada looks ripped (a lot of players had their jerseys rolled up onto their shoulders to show their guns). He's bigger this year, I look for him to have a bigger year than last years +500 yard season. In fact, I'd bet the farm both he and Van have +1,000 yard seasons or damn close to it. I can't imagine Ellis Henderson not increasing his production, and I'm excited to see Jamaal Jones as well.

On defense, I'm looking for soph DE Derek Crittendon from Whitefish to blow-up a bit this season.

Once Mitch Saylor comes back from his surgery, he will begin to lite up the field. Now that he has a QB who can throw him the ball. His size will dominate.
Also Jordan Canada has finally grown-up, he will rush for over 1000 yds!

I think there are too many backs this year that will be getting the ball for anyone to go over a 1000 yds rushing. Who knows though...

So what's the story on Alex Bienemann?
Stud. One of the leaders on the defense. Looks like he will split reps with Kidder, which isn't a knock on Alex since all teams want to be able to rotate 4 or 5 D tackles.

Here is Delaney's quote on Alex today: "I think we're getting some really good leadership from our seniors," Delaney said. "Those seniors have taken a leadership role in their own way. (Senior defensive tackle) Alex Bienemann is at the best he's been at since coming to the University of Montana.

"He's (Bienemann) working real hard
, and you can go right down the line," Delaney said. "(Senior linebacker) J.P. Kanongata'a has been the player of the day the last two days. He's not one of our so-called elected captains, but he certainly is a leader. I really believe our seniors, and even some of our juniors, are great leaders. I am just really excited about that."

That's good to hear. I thought I heard somewhere along the way over the past couple months that he may have been recovering from an injury; not too certain what.

Also, what piqued my anxiety was what was mentioned in a Missoulian article: < http://missoulian.com/sports/college/montna/football/resiliency-test-griz-start-camp-tuesday-eye-return-to-prominence/article_bad594cc-fca5-11e2-b46c-001a4bcf887a.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ...wherein it was stated: 'He (Gregorak) has an imposing group up front (Montana's defense) that includes Zack Wagenmann, Caleb Kidder, Tonga Takai and Tyrone Holmes.' And was wondering why Alex Bienemann wasn't mentioned. Thanks again.

Looks like I know. :D I predicted before the season that Van and Canada will both rush for over 1,000 yards this season. And at the Appalachian State, they both rushed for over 100, they are on their way to accomplishing this feat.

Delaney, three times, had 2 backs rush for over 1,000 yards in the same season when he coached the RBs and controlled the running game at Colorado State.

In sorry to burst you bubble intuitive but if you go back to the top of this thread I was the third person to post and the 1st to claim Van and Canada on Off. Canada is kind of a stretch though because its no seceret he can have breakout games and hold his own gaining over 500 yards in his 1st two seasons as the 3rd option behind Johnson and Nyguen his Fr year and Moore and Nyguen his So year. The only issue with Van is health concerns. That will be the only thing that stops him this year.
I was unaware of that stat on Delany though. That is very interesting
