"Brawl of the Wild" Name

As an outdoorsmen all my long life I want to keep it the Brawl of the Wild. I mean have you ever heard of a bobcat kicking a grizzlies ass. Not!

It could be called "Brawl for the Pile of Poop Trophy."
Come on now, everyone has thought that.

Heard it mentioned that the name Brawl of the Wild was started by a sports editor from the Missoulian ? Is this the way it happened ?

According to a recent news story from UM, Kim Briggeman in a Missoulian article in 1997.

I think I also remember seeing it in the video game NCAA Football… 2004(?) it was one of the only ones that had FCS teams in it.

What's you opinion of people calling it other than the Brawl of The Wild ? The name meaning is Grizzly Bears vs. Bobcats in football for the uninformed.

ESPN GameDay had a Brawl of the Wild graphic up this morning....

Might be corporate rooted, but it is now mainstream. It is catchy and appeals broadly. Should just embrace it....
