The Big Sky has a long way to go.

That sucks. I love the NCAA tournament, but it's becoming worse than the BCS. If you took a poll of sports fans, a vast majority would rather see a 24 or 25 win mid-major conference champion in the Dance than the 9th place 17-13 team from the Big East.

Putter, I have been saying this for years, and completely agree with you on it. :thumb:

Makes total sense.
Nope, hold on a sec.....This is the NCAA tourney and people show up regardless...this is totally different than football and bowl games, which is where u may be getting the money comparison. I was at the UM vs BC game in 2006..the huntsman center was PACKED, it was packed for the game afterward with gonzaga vs indiana.....it doesnt matter who plays in these games, they are always going to draw fans with the NCAA tourney format. pay for a session, see a few games...they dont need a 17-14 team from the big east to draw fans....i mean, montana vs BC, UM small fan base, BC across the country...huntsman center definatly crowdedFireGriz said:EverettGriz said:GrizDDS said:FWIW, VCU was 27-6, 7th in the midmajor poll, CAA conference RPI ranking 15th, coming off a Final 4 and Joe Lunardi had them NOT getting an at-large bid had they not won their conference tournament.

Except that the 9th place team in the Big Least has twice as many fans as almost any school in the mid major top 25 on a neutral court. How many Montana or St Mary's or Murray State fans show up in Phoenix for a game against Duke or Syracuse?
And if you think it's not about the money, you're crazier than an optomistic Scat football fan in July.

Hey "irregardless" isn't a preferred word in proper English speaking zones.
