nah, don't wanna do that...
What does this even mean?

it means that even if the numbers are reported, universities/sports department have a tendency towards, uh, "optimistic" reporting.

Not sure I would say that reporting the number of tickets actually sold as being "optimistic".
Agree. The difference between tickets sold and no-shows is mostly season ticket holder no-shows. At Montana, with nearly 19,000 season ticket holders, this is even more certain and this favors high attendance reports. Haslam counts the revenue $ that supports the whole AD with a big smile. The only risk with large gaps between the two is that some season ticket holders not going to games may give it up next year.AZGrizFan said:HelenaHandBasket said:Not sure I would say that reporting the number of tickets actually sold as being "optimistic".
Maybe they’re “optimistic” that all the ticket purchasers will actually show up?
I just don’t get the beef about this stuff…this is how literally EVERY school reports attendance…a sell out is a sell out, regardless of how many butts are actually in the seats.

And obviously fewer butts means less concession revenue, but other than that, it’s a complete non-issue.
