Bohl's done a pretty good job with NDSU transitioning from a D2 school to a perennial FCS favorite, I think he has a chance to turn Wyoming's fortunes around.
Wyoming is a lost cause. The fan base sucks, the area sucks, getting players there will be almost impossible. I doubt Wyoming ever does much. However he could make them eligible for the car quest southern west radio shack bowl.

Nothing wrong with going bowling...hope they do. Much more interest in the lowest of bowls than fcs.

Also, YouTube Wyoming facilities...pretty damn impressive.

He could have done way better than wyoming, I'll guess the payday will be about 500K.

$1.5-2 mil/yr and a jet + big pay raises for staff

Oooooooo a jet! I bet he doesn't have a clue how to fly the thing.

He has a pilot license and flies for recruiting visits.

Damn. Learned something today. He flies jets or props?

Very nice indeed. I really like what they do with their rivalry trophy.

Cool story, bro. Let me know when Montana's playing in the Fiesta Bowl and Sugar Bowl.

would a recruit really give a crap about the highlights of the 1996 wyoming-colorado state game?

It's a step up. Better facilities. Larger budget. Better pay for assistants and a better likelihood of being able to keep key assistants on staff. It's in the best "mid major" conference. Same reasons we lost Glen to Wyo.

Saying that, I think NDSU would thump Wyoming if they played today. Wyoming is a difficult place to build a successful program. Laramie is a difficult place to recruit to and has a tough time beating out the Colorado schools for local recruits. Comparing Laramie to Fort Collins, Boulder, Bozeman, Missoula, or just about any other college town in this area of the country, it really lacks in livability. Wyoming is also the smallest state in terms of population and is very spread out, which makes it even tougher to build a fan base and fill the stadium.

A big asset that Bohl brings to the table is his recruiting connections and track record of developing talent, which is always a strong selling point when talking to recruits. He also has a system and knows how to get kids to buy into it. If Wyoming stays patient with him, I think he could get Wyoming to be a contender in the MWC in 3 or 4 years.

I hope he succeeds. I'd like to see Wyoming do well. It is a good and important school and it would be nice for the state of Wyoming to have something to rally around.

I think I still have the Sports Illustrated with him on the cover dressed like a cowboy.

Redskins won the Super Bowl that year.............

Hey, Wyoming had Fennis Dembo. Enuff said!!!!
WhO?

I figured that one would whiff the young whippersnappers but Dembo is legend in Wy among the 40 somethings.
I see. Never really was a fan of Wyoming sports. I here they rodeo and wrestle pretty good. And Carroll picked up a few Wyoming kids for football during their Champioship runs. But other than that...
