Vigen and staff have done a great job tailoring the offense to Mellott's strengths. Montana's liability was offense all season and their coaches could never figure it out. The "we are physically better than you and will keep shoving done your throat" approach was barely ever effective.

'Barely ever effective' was why we ended the season 10-3 despite the plethora of injuries to many of our Seniors.
I think our coaches figured it out more than you give them credit for

And - Go Scats Go - but only for 2 more games

Not sure I wound pin a great amount of the success on the offense though. This team was carried by defense and special teams all season with the offense doing just enough on so many occasions. I would say they went 10-3 in spite of the offense.

Well there’s no doubt about that. 10% more offense and we’re undefeated and playing at home throughout the playoffs. BIG difference. Then again, 10% LESS offense and we lose to UW and SUU and probably sitting home for the playoffs…. Yin and yang, man.

Same with the Scats as far as defense
ST advantage was huge all year
But limiting turnovers (INTs) was also big and my guess is we had more INTs than fumbles by our RBs.
Also - we seemed to really open our O up against JMU. That worked well for 2 FGs
Injuries Matter!

Didn’t realize how much AGS discounted the BSC… hopefully we can represent. A Big sky team going far helps with credibility for future playoff births. Thankfully we can always count on Sac to crap their pants every year so we will carry the torch.

The worst of our injury woes were shouldered by the offense. Hard to excel losing players like Knight, Ostmo, Sulser, then Akem and Humphrey. At this level, that kind of injury plague of key players is hard to overcome.

I would love to see a great showing of Griz fans in the stadium with Cat fans. Show the FCS that Montana fans support each other.

After watching both teams this weekend and after this year's Cat/Griz, it seems to me, for the foreseeable future, we're gonna see both MT schools barreling through the season and "the great divide" will decide the BSC champ and two of the top 5 seeds in the playoffs. Yeah, JMU beat the Griz, but UM hung around without their starting QB and biggest offensive weapon. Those two don't get hurt, I think the final score is vastly different. The Griz will be playing ball in December in '22, mark it.

The rivalry is alive and well! Up with Montana and Go Cats!
You don't even mention that our shutdown corner, Hicks-Onu was not available and it was his replacement that got burned for big plays. Going into the season we thought we were deep. We found out otherwise, Knight, Ostmo, Sulser, then last night. BH used the term attrition; a good description; hard to win losing so many key players. We need two QBs we can win with; we only had one.

It's not going to be as easy as you say.

Got anymore excuses??

Congratulations Bobcats, good game! I hope you make it further in the playoffs through SDSU, and winner of JMU and NDSU!

GO Bobcats!

I didn't make any, so not sure what you mean by more.

Ignore these guys Kem. They’re the uneducated football fans that don’t know the difference between “next man up” and “too many injuries to overcome” and they’ll never understand the difference either.

I don't feel like you invalidated my point

Does this invalidate my point? Don't think so, the offense wasn't good all year, those injuries just kept making it more so.
