Sorry Hoops. Maybe as an assistant to the special teams coach, but there is not a chance he would be the head special teams coach in the NFL.

Hauck has been contacted about being a head NFL ST coach several times over the year. Turned down a 7 figureish one in the last offseason. Fact. Colt Anderson is an asst ST coach. Bobby is head ST coach level in the NFL and has for years. Fact.

Let’s bet $1,000 as to whether Hauck has had NFL team discussions with teams over the years, most recently at pay level double or triple of what his UM package is now.

There is not a special teams coordinator in the NFL without NFL playing or coaching experience.

There is not a special teams coordinator in the NFL without NFL playing or coaching experience. Colt is way more qualified than Bobby and would get hired before him.

Helena native and Carroll grad has made a good living in the NFL coaching special teams. Raiders retained him after coaching change. A lot of NFL games are still won and lost on special teams. That is why a lot get fired each year. Good special teams coaches have to work with players from both sides of the ball that will fill out their units. Successful head coaching experience would help with that. Bobby would be an excellent NFL Special Teams coach.

Yep, In 2007 McMahon made the jump to the NFL as an assistant special teams coordinator for the Falcons. Do you know who the head coach was that hired him and their connection?

I don't believe you. Prove it. Also, prove that no one without NFL background ever became a head ST coach.

John Harbaugh became NFL ST coordinator coming from only college coaching. Yes, he played in NFL. From Moorhead State to NFL special teams coordinator.

As a coach:
Western Michigan (1984–1987)
Running backs coach & outside linebackers
Pittsburgh (1987)
Tight ends coach
Morehead State (1988)
Special teams coach and secondary coach
Cincinnati (1989–1996)
Special teams coordinator
Indiana (1997)
Special teams coordinator & defensive backs
Philadelphia Eagles (1998–2006)
Special teams coordinator
Philadelphia Eagles (2007)
Defensive backs coach
Baltimore Ravens (2008–present)
Head coach

Hauck has more ST experience than many of the ST coaches currently in the NFL.

Anyone, the main question is whether Hauck has had NFL ST interest. Are we going to bet $1,000? Easy money for you if you are right, but you are not right. I think it's telling that you are afraid to bet.

I've made the statement before and I'll again...ZERO chance Bobby's coaching style that's he's immensely proud of works in an NFL locker room/building. I'm not saying he's not knowledgeable enough in the area of ST, but his tough-guy routine that obviously works with college kids would never fly with full grown men who make five times what he does. Thers's been many examples of coaches with much better resumes than Bobby couldn't make it in the NFL for similar reasons. There's exactly one entity pushing this narrative. There's never been a shred of proof other than some guy who has never coached the game trying to buffalo people on this board with ridiculous bet offers. Every true Griz fan should ignore this nonsense and hope Bobby stays here until he feels it's time to retire.

You don't even know Bobby's coaching style. He doesn't have a tough-guy routine. Not many ST players makes $5 million per year. In 2022, this was the new contract of highest paid player. "the three-year contract for Neal makes him the highest-paid special teams player in the NFL. It was reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that the deal is worth a maximum of $10.9 million."

Feel free to list the coaches with better resumes who couldn't make it as a ST coach in the NFL. Bobby has one of the best ST resumes in football.

Bobby wouldn't try to buffalo anyone in the NFL. You are just making up stuff. You don't know how Bobby coaches these days.

Again, it is a fact that he has been approached by the NFL to be a ST coach, a head coach. You can spew all the nonsense you want, but you will just be wrong.

ST coach. A head ST coach, as opposed to an Asst ST coach. Pay attention to the discussion.

Prior to joining the Griz Bobby was a sought out speaker on special teams on the coaching clinic curcuit. Along with a lot of big names from the NFL and NCAA. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that NFL teams have at least contacted him to see if he was interested

Show us a presentations schedule from any American Football Coaches Association conference with him presenting on special teams.

That would be tough, since you would have to go back to 23 years. I wouldn't even know how to find ANY presentations schedule from then.

You are being a prick for no apparent reason. I saw him at a Nike clinic in late 90s at the Aurora, Colorado Holiday Inn. Two things stuck out. One he was advocating for a sideline mat that he used to organize special teams units. It was a great tool that schools still use. And he talked at length of the “anti-clip” move on returns by raising your hands and screening a defender to avoid clipping. Watch any Griz game and you see players doing it often. He then was on the regional Nike clinic in Seattle when he went to UW. I saw Johny Majors from Tennessee present on special teams once and Bobby was a WAY better presenter. Bobby is a super organized and detail oriented. He knew special teams was his ticket to college coaching and he became an expert in it.

I have never once questioned Bobby's ST knowledge or his ability to get college players to perform at a high level during that or any other portion of the game. Just another reason every Griz fan should celebrate the fact that he isn't leaving to take an NFL job and there has been zero proof provided that it is even an option. Even my man, Elrod, agrees that the NFL is a bad fit for Bobby and I didn't see anyone go after him.

Where-how does Elrod say/think Bobby is a bad fit for the NFL? Elrod has been getting my specific inside info on his NFL contacts for some time, by the way. Bobby would be a great fit for NFL ST coach. However, I assume he doesn't have interest in that, except as a fallback position. He could have done that starting long ago.
