To me most important is that the players respect and play hard for a coach. From most accounts I believe the Griz players respect this staff. Those 8-10 wins a year are more wins than 90% of the rest of the teams in college football. The stadium is full every week and tons of money is brought in to Missoula each home game, because of those 10 wins every year.
You state that you want to win national championships, you never will! Your favorite team might but not you, also trust me when I say the coaches and players want to win one waaaaay more than you do.
Biggest problem with national championships is that there is only one won each year and 130 some other teams work very hard to win the same championship the Griz are after.
Social media has had a impact on sports fans. Let me explain, Fans go on FB,X,Insta and other platforms and see fans of other teams posting, boasting, and roasting to other fans and I think feelings get hurt and damnit they want their team to win it all to shut the other fans up.
The last couple years on FB has been hilarious every time something positive is posted about Montana cat fans and bison fans and jack rabbit fans are there to poo poo on the post.
Much of this is brought on by Griz fans, however social media platforms have allowed for fans to be real tools online and develop unrealistic expectations of their favorite team.
