Bobby Hauck

Unlv guys think a big money booster is finally willing to put multi millions into fb program but he wants a certain coach and Hauck is not him.

Yes. whats so confusing about it?

There was $700,000 left on his contract. UNLV and he agreed to a $400,000 buy out and he is free to coach wherever he wants immediately.

I know that. I was responding to Sea Bass who was confused by it. Reread the thread.

I wasn't sure why unlv would buy him out if he "resigned". Didn't make sense.

I see what you are getting at.....kind of. My bad. I assumed. The extension came after a not so terrible (actually winning) season. This year was a little different (understatement.)

Who knows. Likely is something more to it, as I said earlier....hrmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

I think he would have a better chance of being hired back here if he put "Robert" on his application instead of Bobby.

Seriously or is that just something you made up? Because no one ever just makes up shit and then posts it on egriz. *rolls eyes*

Some people are gullible.......such as myself.

Seriously though...why would Hauck WANT to come back to Missoula? There isn't a professional reason for him to do it with the exception that he never won the chipper

Maybe because he made a boat load of money and loves Montana and wants to retire here , Only time will tell ?

Maybe after the failure at UNLV he has no where else to go?

You do have a valid point

Ahhhhhh yes. I have used this before....it's not you, it's me. From the article.....

"That last part is key in this search because Kunzer-Murphy made it clear the university knows this isn’t strictly a Hauck issue. “It’s not the coach. It’s us,” she said. “We have to change the culture.”

All of the culture changes Kunzer-Murphy discussed will take time and, more importantly, money, so the next coach is going to have to believe in a new vision or at least believe in whatever behind-the-scenes work is already being done to make some of those dreams reality.

“We can’t just keep putting people in that chair without fixing the culture of UNLV football,” she said.

As for Hauck, his $400,000 payout and agreement mean he’s free to coach elsewhere as soon as the resignation becomes official Monday. Hauck came to UNLV after seven successful seasons leading Montana in Division I-AA, and with Grizzlies coach Mick Delaney set to retire at the end of the season it certainly seems possible that Hauck, a Montana native, could return to the Grizzlies."

How old are Hauck's kids?

His twin girls are freshmen in college this year; son is a junior, and youngest daughter is--gosh--maybe 7? Montana is a great place to raise kids, so that's one draw.

JJ will be gone, so that's good for the twins.

Hell yes bring him back if he wants to and he might, but only he would know that.
One of Bobby's biggest complaints was the lack of facilities other then the stadium itself. I remember a comment he made once that it was a big deal just to get paint in the staff offices not to mention the pathetic weight rooms and locker rooms. Now with all of that turning around that could put a sweet taste back in it for him. He could also use the come back and finish what he started and get that national title.
He is a true Montanan and loves the Griz so I would have to think he gave it some thought, albeit maybe a millisecond.
Lets face it, like it or not the guy can recruit like crazy, especially a kicker!!!
BOBBY BALL, HELL YES :thumb: :thumb:
Will it happen, NO

Wow, GTFO with that talk.

They're both QBs right? They might have a better shot at making the team...
