Bobby Hauck

I snooped around on the UNLV message board (and you thought EWUs board was dead) There is a thread started "Bobbys gone!" or something like that but you need an account to view.

I'll tell you what they're saying. They are thrilled. The idiots on Rebel-Net have been calling for Bobby's head for awhile. They are not unlike the fans here who want coaches fired any time their team loses a game. They seem to think that there is a super-awesome coach out there that is going to be willing to come to UNLV and wave a magic coaching wand and make things all better in Rebel Land. They are even saying nice things about their previous coach, Sanford, and how "nice" he was. The bottom line is that they aren't going to be happy with any coach unless they are winning. They were eating their words last year when their team made it to the Bowl game and were admitting that maybe they were wrong about him. But now they are back to Bobby Bashing. Their problem isn't the coaching, it's their program. It's a basketball school, and nobody cares about football at UNLV except for the 5 posters on Rebel-Net. The last time they had a winning record was in 1985, for crying out loud!

Exactly, Vegas football is where coaches go to die.

We'll find out...

Does anyone truly believe Hauck would be back? The downfall of this program did not happen under Pflugrad alone. The program's image still has a long ways to go to right itself. Bringing back the past isn't progress.

My big worry if Hauck comes back... If he brings Rosenbach with him. (His current OC)

+1

But what is the reality of RE signing off on it?

Don't get me wrong I would love to see his intensity and hard nose football return on defense and special teams.

BH brings back RP and keeps TG....would we have a coaching staff that makes every egrizzer at least 33% happy?!! It's a Christmas fucking miracle!

His demise at unlv not surprising due to the football environment there and his approach.

I wish him and family the best, but don't think he belongs back here.

If Bobby came back, you know Ty would stay on as DC.

Or would Ty want to move on after Bobby was forced to fire him a few years back? Personally I'd like to see Ty stay, but I'm somewhat worried that he would move on if Hauck comes back. Could be totally wrong on that though...

Think you answered your own question....."forced to fire him". I suspect he doesnt hold Bobby responsible for that decision.

And go where?.. Hauck did what any coach would do given the circumstances at the time. Not sure what happened that night in Boulder, but Ty wasn't exactly being an angel, getting rested up in his hotel room.

I'd like to see Ty stay also btw.

Hmmm. Coincidence? It would be the second coming (literally) for many on egriz. I think he would have to be scrutinized for some issues the program had during his time here. But he did have swagger... whats next, Pflugrad as OC?, O'Day as SID?
Yes he did have swagger I for one would have him back :thumb:

Got a bit of info, sounds like there's no hard feelings, which is good, so Ty could possibly stay if this scenario unfolds.

I heard a rumor about Bobby being interested in coming back Saturday , Had a discussion with Hammer about it didn't put much stock in it until now . I'm going to definitely check it out tomorrow at the game.
