Paging Grizoola
It's Grizzoola, thank you. I agree this will be a make or break season for BH. However, I believe he finally has the team he's been building for the last 3 years. I could not believe he lost to NAU, when at UM he beat them consistently, same coach, & all. But now, he has guys he brought in, matured under him, understand his system of football, have bought into it. Just like at UM.

I think UNLV's problem is not the coach: It's the UNLV culture, which is more invested in basketball. UNLV has brought in a variety of coaches, over the years, but UNLV"s record has not significantly improved. In fact, if BH blows this season, I'd suggest UNLV drop football entirely & concentrate on basketball, the program it and its fans truly love. If BH thought he could make a difference in that culture, he was mistaken. Live & learn.

As you all know, BH is a helluva hard-working coach, a good recruiter, altho some of you have questioned his game management. He's already got guys he developed invited to NFL spring camps. Altho I hate to say this, & many of you may disagree, but I do believe he brought in some talented but socially questionable kids at UM. At UNLV, when he came in, I'm sure Livengood put the kibosh on that. Witness the Ty Gregorak situation as an example. It could be or not be the reason for his lack of success, so far. I prefer to believe it is not.

BH chance of a winning season are about equal in chance of Delaney keeping his headphones on without duct tape.

I'm not totally sure how I would feel about Hauck returning... he's a proven winner, but I think some of the cultural problems in Griz football can be attributed to his leadership.

Did he prove himself at UNLV ?

Not only were his cupboards bare, someone took all the spoons, knives, forks, pots, pans, sink, stove and fridge too! :thumb:

Well, he was not as lucky as when he took over the Griz, when he had a full cupboard with all the spoons, knives, forks, pots, pans, sink, stove, and fridge, and even a walk in wine cellars, and still no NC.
And don't forget he also had the brillance of Rob Phenocie.

However Bobby knew what he was getting when he went to UNLV, he made some money, and more than likely stalled his career, he will more than likely go the route of other coaches moving up from FCS coming from a better program then what he was getting into, the lure of FBS...

I wish the best for Bobby, however that just might be Big Timber.

I say let's shoot for the stars and try and find somebody who's won a total of seven games in the last four seasons.

Or, maybe we could pursue Joe Glenn.

Hang on, Joe, I gotta take this call...

If Ol' Royce were UNLV president they probably would drop football...or at least troll assisted living facilities in the area for a new coach... :coffee:

Bring BH back, minus his coordinators. Won't happen though. How about we trade Engstrom for BH?

Im in!!!!! :thumb:

The bashers would not want that. Wonder how they will feel when the NCAA results come back with very little on BH, in his time here. I am sure somehow he is still the devil in their eyes.
