Bobby Hauck (let's not derail it)

Some players ran into trouble there but nothing like what happened during Hauck's tenure.
What happened during Hauck's tenure that was worse than several players involved in voter fraud?

Just for the record, I have definite knowledge that BH's resignation at UNLV was one that was forced by the school and/or BoR. He did NOT resign in order to apply for the job opening at UoM. Just wanted to clear-up any of those thoughts, which were uttered in previous posts.
Agree and as much as PR would like to argue, it is not uncommon in a contract to buy the right to terminate with a buy-out consideration.

UNLV boosters wanted the change. They are now putting up the bucks for the new head coach. They wanted Hauck gone to get their guy in

Was just told the Fertittas will bring in $30 million up front to #UNLVFB that will go to facilities, training table and coaches' salaries.

Well, let's hope that this puts a kibosh on the idea that Hauck stepped down voluntarily in order to come back to UM. Looks pretty clear to me that he was forced out by those with the $$$. Now let's move on to some new candidates :thumb:

I know for a fact that BH wanted to pursue the UM job. While UNLV or boosters may have wanted him out too, he would have gotten alot more than $400,000 of the remaining 2 years of his contract paying $700,000 per year if they were forcing him out. Under a force-out situation, the bidding would have started at $1.4 million. All assuming there wasn't an unusual provision in the contract.

So you have read the contract and understand all the performance and buyout clauses then.

If Hauck didn't take the multi million dollar deal... I would be concerned about his mental health and decision making abilities.

The irony is he got that multi million dollar offer because he had success at Montana. Yet people seem to be happier with how we've done in the five years since.....even Pflu only had one fairly good season....and he did it with BH's recruits. Not one person here can say how Pflu would've done long term.....we simply don't know. We can believe.....but we dont know.
Agree. He could even have done something BH never did.
Correct...
