Here is what I know about Coach Stitt:
He has no major college experience: UM is a major college in its requirements on and off the field.
He has never coached in a game as big as any game at Montana.
Two championships in 15 years in a below average league where they have many advantages:
-Location
-Recruiting base
-Popular Majors etc
Hasn't coached any type of athlete you need to win at Montana
No ties to MSU or UM program
Again: No D1 experience
Interviewed twice for the Colorado job and didn't get it
Never been under the eye of scrutiny as he will see in Missoula
Hard to recruit to School of Mines because of ACA requirements? BS-- It's the most attractive school in the league.
They tout him as some offensive guru. Half of America is running the same offense, and everyone runs the same plays. (It's nothing special or unusual)
Bottom Line: His experience is closer to a high school coach than a D1 program
You dont know Stitt
You dont need ties to a school or program Urban Meyer didnt have ties to Florida or Ohio St Brian Kelly didnt have ties to Central Michigan, Cinncinnati or Notre Dame. Simply on of the dumbest things you guy repeat on here every year.
Stitt has 15 years of head coaching experience which is 15 more than Hauck got hired and started the crime spree. Does it matter if you are a head coach in DIII or FBS, not really only to people that dont know dick about football. Its more about managing people and personalities, hire good coordinators and let them coach. Once again very very stupid comment
Hasnt coached they type of athlete needed at Montana? Yikes, where to start with this one, so so so so so so dumb. Did you comment the same way when Hauck went to UNLV, he PROVED he couldnt coach the type of athlete to win at UNLV..........whatever that means.
Co School of mines has higher academic standards at the school and the athletes they recruit so your requirements comment seems like a shot at Montana instead of Stitt
Recruiting base, yep he would only expand the reach of our program to places we dont currently recruit.
Again no DI experience, again doesnt mean a godadamn thing when you have 15 years of head coaching under your belt, that is more than Delaney had when we dug him up.
Offensive guru........yeah they all run those offenses because of people like Stitt that helped create and advance the spread. Hes a leader not a follower. (Maybe he doesnt belong here)
Bottom line is almost all of your bullet points are completely worthless, you should have save the cyber space and not hit submit. The only thing you accomplished is to prove maybe Stitt is too smart to coach at Montana and that is probably why he kicked us to the curb like he did USC.
