I agree. I shudder to even think what our record would've been with this rag-tag group if we had fake coach Stitt. Only a real, and all-world coach could've gone 6-5 with these players. Just look at how he was unable to gain 4" with two tries. Any lesser coach wouldn't have even had the opportunity to fumble on the goal line, from the shotgun.

What do you think of the view of a starter from last year who thinks the team over-achieved this year, based on its talent level?

that the starter needed to cover up his under-achievements? lotsa options.

He didn't have any under achievements.

If that’s the case, then I’d suggest he was saying coaching was the issue.

With having the worst OL in the BSC, I would say almost winning 9 games was a pretty good job.

Don't know, but note that he was playing for Stitt.

  That's maybe the most Bobcat thing I've ever read.

Stitt's greatest sins were not beating the cats with a superior team and placing enough emphasis on recruiting students from Montana. We can argue about schemes, talent level, effort etc., but it's painfully obvious why he was not the right fit at Montana.

Stitt also didn't adequately embrace various aspects of Griz Nation. A lot of people never warmed up to him or didn't like him.

Two players mentioned to me even before this season that Dante Olson not playing as a RS soph was just an example of deeper coaching issues.

Agreed. It's about having home grown Montana boys on the roster and staff first and foremost. Sure, you could probably win the BSC using nothing but players from Long Beach Unified School District, but the Griz aren't all about winning anymore. Stitt didn't get it that us fans think 6-5 is better than 7-4 as long as we have our Montana Boyz.

Stillwater over Greeley but Colorado over Oklahoma

By a mile. From Greeley in 90 minutes you can be in Estes Park. From Stillwater in 90 minutes you’re still in.....Oklahoma.
It takes that 90 minutes from Greeley to lose the feed lot odor.

There are no feedlots in Greeley. It’s illegal to keep livestock...true story.
Uh...?

Weird, that his own teammates didn’t see him play every game last year.

Not sure that is quite what he meant sport.

Hilarious how people are STILL stitt bashing one year removed. Montana had a great offense under Stitt no matter what people say. No matter the other things, that part is at least true. He easily can be the OC for almost any of the BSC teams and it would be a step up. And yes, that includes us at Montana.

Too bad he couldn't figure out the head coach part though.

Special teams, but count the starts and minutes he played at LB in 2017. Then tell me wasn't good enough.

Seems as if he’s figured it out better than Hauck. Has a better win % than Hauck had this year... not gonna change next year either. You confident Haucks third year will be enough to vault him above the abysmal stitt?

Well to be honest, I am not a huge Hauck fan, but realize that Stitt left an average roster at best for anyone that would have been the head coach, himself included.
