BigSky Conference Possible Playoff Teams

Hypothetically, let's say the griz win the next two and lose in Bozeman (Which I think is very likely). Does anyone on here, besides PR, think that griz team deserves to make the playoffs? 7 wins against terrible teams and four losses against the only four good teams you played? Yes or no.

I have never said we would or should make playoffs with 7 wins. But it’s a moot point because we will have 8.

I didn't say you did... I even said my scenario was a hypothetical. Also, I am super pumped to see you predicting the griz to beat the Cats, since you've been wrong on your last three griz game predictions. :thumb:

Oh, and you can save you typing about every griz win depending on exactly one player. Thanks.

The answer to this is yes and it's not even seriously debatable. We have two ooc MVFC wins on the schedule.

So what, all those teams you beat aren't good. I'm not here to tell anyone else what to think, but if my favorite team went 4-4 in the Big Sky I would be perfectly fine with them not making the field. I'd be pissed, disappointed, and grumpy..... but no way would I expect them to get in, even as watered down as it is.

A little nugget, but if the Griz beat Bozeman, they will have just as many "quality" wins and would have played a much more difficult schedule.

That has zero to do with the point I was making. If you beat the Cats in Bozeman..... I am 100% on board with you guys making the playoffs, in fact you might even earn a seed. Also, I don't think you're correct on the SOS deal, if memory serves I thing we were both around 50th.

This is fair. As long as you concede if you lose in Bozeman you’ll have went the entire season never beating a team with a winning record!

Lot on the line like always.

I'll believe the committee will keep a 7-4 Montana out of the playoffs when I see it.

The willingness to host games and ability to pack stadiums which = money to the NCAA. Gives an advantage to Montana. Plus outside of the Idaho game their other 2 losses aren't bad losses. Heck even the Idaho loss doesn't look terrible anymore. They'll probably get a first round home game then play at #1 TBD in the 2nd round.

With our starting QB, I’d argue there aren’t 6-8 better. WITHOUT our starting QB, I’m not sure we belong in the playoffs.

Well, in all honesty. Pre Cat/gris. I would argue there’s 10-12 teams better. There’s no proof you can win a top 10 game because you haven’t yet. I Don’t want subjective views either. However like I said, even with Brown, I don’t think there are 24 better teams.

There's no proof the cats can beat a top 10 team without being gifted 8 points on a record amount of safeties either. Cats won by 5. They gave you 8. What's your point? But I'll say this, that cats are playing well and about where I expected them to be at this point in the season.

Thanks, Gris are about as advertised too!

That call in the Sac game had much bigger impact than folks want to admit. Think about this….if that call is correct, the Griz win that game (no question). That would have them at 6-2 with a win over the #2 team in the county. Then if they beat CP and EWU, they are already 8-2 and the Cats game doesn’t become a play in game for playoffs. That shit show really fucked us and is having major impact.

You forget about the 14 pts the Cats special team gave to Weber! Also, you don’t mention the over 300 rushing yards the Cats had on the Weber defense who was only giving up 87 per game. Cats had just under 500 yds of total offense in that game.

Ya, I agree - the griz should have played better earlier in order to take it out of the officials hands....... but they didn't.

And anybody complaining about officiating and then dredging up the Cats\Weber game, please. That was a brutally one sided game in terms of the refs, Bobcats dominated that game. Was easy to see from the stands.

Your condescending remarks are all over the board lately. You seem to be living here. When the Griz beat the cats can we expect this many posts from you too or will you disappear like last year, keyboard warrior.

Of course they’ll disappear. That one dude that’s been living here recently didn’t have a single post from the night before the brawl last year until we were halfway through the JMU game.

Weber had 3 penalties called on them, MSU had 11. Does look pretty one sided.

At least until you realize that MSU had 8 false starts. Take those away and the foul count is 3 to 3. But yeah totally one sided.

ST points are not gifts. They are earned. Please don't tell us you are that stupid. Cats were lucky to win the game.

There's at least one in every fanbase.

I think the Cats are good. I think they found a way to beat Weber but no more of the “we gave them two touchdowns on special teams”. They earned two touchdowns against your special teams. They actually had to do something to earn those points. The safeties had nothing to do with the Cats earning them unless you guys greased the football. Those were absolutely rare (I guess one is not that unusual) but 4? Those were given not taken. Weber took/earned the touchdowns. Just like you guys earned the “fumble” on the punt. Actually that was pretty much given and not really earned either.

Like when someone wins a million lottery? Like when the Weber snapper hikes it over the punter’s head 4 times?
