Big Sky men's basketball tournament

The tournament is reinforcing at least one fact - there's some really good talent showing up on more solid BSC teams than ever in the past. Sure the Griz are good, but there are a number of challengers who can play with them on any given night. As much as the improvement I'm no less surprised by the fade of a storied program like Randy Rahe's Wildcats, a big part of that being the aforementioned rise in the number of elevated programs. Southern Utah is a pretty good example of that.

Granted there are some great players out there. Still don't care how good they are, a single player should not be able to beat our guys.

Yes I know it can be done. Yet it should not happen. We have a slew of very good players of our own and multiple ones who should be able to play tough defense and slow down the opponent's guy.

You’d think? But that’s not what happened just under a month ago. Ewu dominated us more than any other mid-major—and really it was their D that messed us up. That’s what’s really scary. We don’t match up with them well and I think he’s the type of player who could will his team to the dance. Sorry if I sound like a worry wort but Bliznyuk got me like

He makes it look so easy. The announcer summed it up perfectly when he said, after Bliznyuk drilled a 3, something like, “I think he was yawning during that shot!”

An Ewu/Griz final would be a good one. Easterns freshman have played great the last three weeks and they finally got some guys back from injury.

I’d give the griz a major guard advantage but Eastern gets the advantage of having the best player on the court.

Should be a helluva game if both teams win tonight...UNC is no slouch tho...

UM is going to have its hands full if the Griz gets that far. I don't see SUU beating EWU but it might be close.

Apparently SUU is no slouch either.
