Big Sky Game Thread

And after ALL my bitching and moaning, the Griz have the same 11 point lead with 1:28 to play that they started the game with.

Just making' car'tain you "thugs" over there in Mythoola are kept in line. That's all.

Ther be no more of that thar running out of Dahlberg dipping cars over and dousing them with gas an' all and lightin' them thar matches these daze are in the good o' days of The Zoo. Pat W.'s in town; so watch it, ya hear?

And in a game that should have NEVER been as close as it was with 7 minutes to go, instead of being able to rest the starters Cherry, Jamar, Gregory etc all played extensive minutes and were in the game right to the end. Would have been very nice to get them some bench time in a blowout so that the advantage we have over Weber would be even MORE noticeable.
 
Okay, we can all breath: Griz win 70-56. Will had 21 points, Jamar 19. But 13 turn-overs made it harder than it should have been. And the Griz were out-rebounded ... by UNC. Not good (with Weber next!).
 
Griz may have been out-rebounded, but we had 13 offensive rebounds, according to UNC's head coach. He said that was the difference.

As a matter of fact, I made my original statement based on what must have been preliminary stats: The final game stats now posted show the Griz won the rebound battle 38-33. The coach may have considered the Griz's 13 offensive rebounds "the difference," but the final stats say UNC had 14 ... so I'm not sure what the coach meant.

He said "you can't give up 13 offensive rebounds to Montana on their home floor and expect to win. That was the difference."
 
If the Griz shoot 3 pointers the way they did tonight and let Weebz play like UNCs one big man did it will be a long night. Decent win, had some bad lapses, on to Weber!

they need to take the seats outta the lower level. If those old fuckers don't like it, give your seat to someone who will stand the whole game and yell. Em-fucking-barrassing that Tinkle has to gesture for the crowd to stand up in that late game situation. Students are starting to bring it, they are responding to the Tink meister, give them the courtside back, do something with the dead fuckers in there now. AGE LIMIT on courtside seats, or standing timed test with lung capacity measurements....

Maybe five defensive possesions with the crowd stading tonight...

Other that that, great crowd.... :roll:

Milt nailed it!

The crowd in the lower level made it look like an AARP Convention. I say in the morning they send in a crew with pneumatic impact wrenches and remove the seats. I watched in disbelief as the crowd sat drooling and lifeless when the Griz went on a run.
