Paytonlives, thank you for the work you did on this post. It helps to see the comparative schedules laid out visually. Much appreciated.

Thanks...

agree with this....thanks payton for you time and effort to the board.... :thumb:

I am still trying to make up my mind about going to the PSU game. If so I'll buy tickets at the gate. Love to watch us beat them. They are a damn solid team.

I think a six win Big Sky team is going to have a very small chance of getting in. I think the FCS selection committee will look at 6 win Missouri Valley teams before BSC teams. The perception seems to be that Missouri Valley is a tougher conference so 6 wins there will mean more than 6 wins here.

I think the Griz beat ISU & MSU, and need to beat either PSU or EWU to be a lock for the playoffs.

Pretty much dead on......a loss this weekend and we really have our backs to the wall.

EWU, PSU & SUU, just punched their tickets. Congrats.

"Lock" is a strong word. Prayer is more like it. If we do win out I will be very surprised. Pleased, but surprised.

Sputter.....clank.....putt, putt.........pffffffft

Pretty much doa now, never a HC done so little with so much imho!

Cal Poly had 535 rushing yards, four people over 100 yards...and still lost 54-37 to SUU

I don't know, outside of WR and LB this team is very average talent-wise, some positions below average.

Stitts recruiting skills will tell the tale the next few years.

BTW, there were two teams that made the playoffs last year with 5 losses heading into the playoffs: Morgan State @ 7-5 (MEAC autobid) and Indiana State @ 7-5 (at-large). There were 8 other playoff teams with 4 losses.

Mathematically, the BSC still has PSU, EWU, SUU, NAU, UND, UM that could get to 7-4 or better against D-I competition.

Are probably in with one more win
Eastern Washington....6-2 5-0 (vs. NAU, @UM & vs. PSU)
Portland State..........7-1 4-1 (@UNC, vs. S. Utah & @EWU)

Others on the brink
Southern Utah..........6-2 5-0 (@MSU, @PSU & vs. NAU)
-- Have you looked at their schedule? What a joke! The 5-0 conf is Weber, Davis, UNC, Sac & Poly... Even if the beat MSU and NAU is this 8 win team going to get in???

Northern Arizona.......5-3 3-2 (@EWU, vs. Sac & @S. Utah)
-- Think they have to win out, If they are 7-4 they are not very appealing to the selection team. Best win so far is vs. a realing MSU team.

Montana.................4-4 3-2 (@ISU, vs. EWU & @MSU)
As much as some people want to blast the Griz here, the fact is UM schedule has been brutal. Must win out to get into the playoffs and will if they do. Would have wins over ND State & EWU (both top 10 teams)

North Dakota...........5-4 3-3 (vs. UNC & @Poly)
--How do you explain this team? They beat PSU and lose to ISU. I really don't think they get in at 7-4

Montana State..........4-4 2-3 (vs. S. Utah, @ISU & vs. UM)
--I just cant find a way for them to get in. At 7-4 they would only have 6 FCS wins, not a rule but hard to see it happening.

Northern Colorado.....4-4 2-4 (vs. PSU, @UND & vs. Ab. Christian)
--Would be stunned to see them win their last 3... but this is the Big Sky so who knows?

They might be conference champs with only one loss! So yes they'll get in. If Montana gets in we might get them in the first round.

I'll bet SUU gets in but Montana doesn't

There are so many scenarios right now that can place a variety of teams in this year. These last few games will cause trouble for the playoff committee in deciding what BSC teams are in. EWU and SUU control their own destiny with a tough 3 weeks left. PSU plays both and can knock them both off putting PSU at the top. NAU also plays EWU and SUU and basically their playoff hope leans on winning both on the road. The Griz winning out with a late season win vs EWU has a good argument to get in with 4 losses as well. Just way too many scenarios and what ifs at this point to say who is in. This upcoming week is going to tell us a lot about who is out and who is still scrapping for an at-large bid. Currently the prediction with collegesportsmaddness is EWU, MSU, NAU and PSU making it in. No idea how a current SUU team isn't at least mentioned to be in.

In a perfect (Griz) world the Griz would win and MSU, PSU and EWU would all win.

The Griz fans are in a weird position this weekend... rooting for the felines from the east PSU, & EWU

An MSU win over S. Utah helps the Griz. (Griz playoff chances are helped if S. Utah loses 2 of last 3)
EWU beating NAU also helps the Griz playoff hopes
PSU beating N. Colorado ends UNC fleeting chance.

In defense of SUU they have started the toughest part of their schedule yesterday against Cal Poly, and despite giving up an insane amount of yardage their defense still carried them by creating turnovers and returning 3 for scores. More surprising is their offense which thought to have been a weak point of the team has actually been performing pretty well as of late. Granted their schedule up to this point has been pretty subpar, however they have done what they have been supposed to do when playing subpar teams, by blowing them out (unlike the Griz who struggled against both UC-Davis and was upset by Weber). If SUU finishes with 7 wins I still think they get in.
