Big Sky Conference MVP - Rodney Stuckey

I'm calling it right now... One way or the other, Rodney Stuckey will not be playing at Eastern Washington next year... Period.

And I'm calling this - You're an idiot that doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. :twocents:

Alright, you're entitled to that opinion, but I'm telling you; you're kidding yourself if you think that he's coming back. I have a source at EWU, who shall remain nameless, that has spoken with Hot Rod. He was told that he would not be coming back. You don't have to believe me, but I'll be sure to follow up on this over the summer.

LOL, whatever dude.

CBS Sportsline (Gregg Doyel) handed out their conference awards. Hard to disagree with anything, but his Last Word takes a cheap shot at the Big Sky.

Big Sky

Player of the Year: Rodney Stuckey, Eastern Washington

Freshman of the Year: Rodney Stuckey, Eastern Washington

Coach of the Year: Mike Adras, Northern Arizona

Last word: Stuckey, a Pac-10 talent, is in the wrong league.

Sources smorshes. He's staying.

He's not gonna wait 18 months go play his next college game in the case of a transfer. If he had thought the Zags or the Pac-10 were worth waiting for, he would have gone the juco route, taken care of his academics that way and then transferred. That was certainly on the table for him when he was choosing schools.

He can dominate the BSC for as long as he wants, get enough exposure from a decent OOC schedule, nationally ranked stats, and hopefully tournament appearances. If he's going anywhere, it's the NBA, and he might not be quite ready yet. But like he says in the interview, "if I'm good enough, people will know where to find me."

Plus, evidently his girlfriend has two years of eligibility left on the woman's team.

I live in Cheney, and I've got sources I'm not gonna name too  . but the above knowledge is public and apparent. :thumb:

Go Griz!

and btw, Kalm go over to EagSports and tell those guys that it's a Sac guy with the rumor not a a Griz guy...they are bashing us for starting the "rumor".

Not to start something, but if Stuckey reallly wanted to leave EWU and go to a Pac 10 type school he would not have to sit out. He could still go the JC route for a year and be eligible to go where he wants.

I heard Stuckey was going to transfer to an NAIA school for the remainder of his career. I think he has too much exposure in the big-time right now, and it could go to his head. It would be a smart move.

All the rumor mongering is getting out of hand. Rodney will be back. Why would he transfer somewhere to sit out a year, loose momentum, then battle for playing time at a "big school." He might go pro, but I don't think so.

Unidentified sources are like a-holes. What comes out of them most of the time stinks.

Rather than hoping Rodney leaves, let's hope all the BSC schools start being able to recruit players like him. I'm tired of our great conference suffering from this little brother syndrome. We should be striving to play tougher non conference schedules and kickin some butt and getting two bid to the dance.

This mentality that Rodney is too good for Eastern and the BSC makes me sick. Stop it.

Amen. I think some people (mostly younger) forget that the BSC has had some incredible players in the past. They might not have been as good as Rodney as Freshman, but good nonetheless.
