Big Sky Conference ESPN 2 Night games Fri/Sat??

Does anyone know what kind of viewership numbers it would require to make ESPN to constantly have Big Sky games? Was 190k from the Sac St game, even good for other previous televised Griz games?

190k was very good for a televised regular-season Griz road game. When Montana plays at home, it's typically been around 175k for a regular season game. For comparison, Montana State's regular season ESPN2 game against Idaho last year only drew 75k. Not sure what happened there. I don't believe the Idaho @ Northern Arizona game has been released yet.

These were the only numbers I was able to pull at the moment:
RankGameSeasonNetwork
1FCS Championship: NDSU vs Montana State2025ESPN / ABC~2,400,000
2FCS Championship: SDSU vs Montana2023ESPN / ABC~1,040,000
3North Dakota State at Montana (Semifinal)2023ESPN2790,000
4Idaho at Montana State (Quarterfinal)2024ESPN738,000
5Furman at Montana (Quarterfinal)2023ESPN2679,000
6Montana State vs William & Mary (Quarterfinal)2022ESPN2491,000
7Tennessee State at Montana (1st Round)2024ESPN2263,000
8SEMO at Montana (1st Round)2022ESPN2258,000
9Montana at Sacramento State (Regular Season)2025ESPN2190,000+
10Idaho at Montana (Regular Season)2025ESPN2
174,000
11
Southern Illinois at Idaho (2nd Round)2023ESPN2
132,000
12
Idaho at Montana State (Regular Season)2023ESPN275,000

Based on these numbers, Montana outperforms Montana State slightly in viewership numbers when it comes to apples to apples comparison (for the most part). For a quarterfinal game, Montana State technically outdrew Montana by about 60k, but that was primarily due to their game against Idaho airing on ESPN which draws more viewers than ESPN2 does. Had that game been on ESPN2, I'm betting their numbers would have been lower than Montana's for a quarterfinal game.
