MBBALL Big Sky Champs a Play-In Team?

Am I reading this right that MSU will be in a play-in game? Surely that can't be good for the Big Sky what with the lack of exposure of having a team in the actual Big Dance... I get that MSU was a mid-pack team so maybe if Montana, UNC, or EWU had won then the Big Sky wouldn't be in a play-in game.

Did the powers that be who decided to move the tournament away from the regular season champs account for this? Maybe they're ok with it?

What a slap in the face to the Big Sky!
Just saw where the bobcats were ranked 65th and their play-in opponent, Grambling State is ranked 66th! The winner clinched the 16th seed and gets to play Purdue! Not sure if gets much worse than that.

Back of the hand to the mouth of the BSC. Maybe the BSC should drop basketball. NCAA apparently thinks it already has done so.
Not sure which is the preferred option, losing to Grambling and saving face and going home, or beating Grambling and getting your face torn off by Perdue a few days later.

Well... If they win VS Grambling, it would count at an NCAA Tourney win, and the Big Sky Conference (and the teams in it) would get the same money as if they win on Thursday or Friday... So.

If they had Momberg, they would win
No, Pickens. Or the 2 guys at Utah St. and Battle.

"Pickens and Willa Albrecht paced the Saints with 18 points, but Pickens secured her 23rd double-double in 31 games with 12 rebounds.

Saints’ 61-46 victory over No. 7 seed Oregon Tech in a second-round game."

Pickens had 24 point,8 rebounds and 4 assists in the prior first round D2 tourney blowout win.

Not surprising when a .500 team wins the championship. Neither EWU nor UM would have been a play-in team.
And, so interesting to follow on Facebook that many (most?) Cat fans didn't even realize the Cats were the aq until the brackets were announced today.

Anyone who follows Cat basketball never expected them to win the Big Sky tournament. Not a surprise being in the play-in game with their record and a.weak BSC.

If EWU, UM, Weber or UNCo would've done what they were supposed to do the BSC rep would've been right in the traditional 13-15 seed. The league wasn't much different than in year's past. Hell Weber State beat a damn good St. Mary's team early on before they got inside their own heads and started playing that stagnant offense game and ole defense that they played at the end of the year.

And another thing. All these posters crying about how bad the BSC is/was ..... just a short year ago the league had Great Osobor, Dalton Knecht, Dillon Jones, Raequan Battle, Darius Brown II, Robert Ford III and Josh Bannan. Basically some of the finest players in all of the NCAA and future pros galore. And a few years before that you had the Groves Brothers and that whole stacked crew at EWU. The BSC definitely is a low major league, but you still get some amazing players on a year to year basis.

I guess that is the whole point. Those other BSC teams couldn’t get it done. The BSC has not had an NCAA Tournament win since 2006.

Was talking about how weak the BSC was this year. Not previous years.

And Steele Venters, Angelo Allegri, Jubrile Belo Cam Parker and Moody.

I made this argument on another thread and was told that players come and go and the conference wasn’t that much different, which is laughable. Last year was so much more talented than this year it’s absurd.

You are right, last year the conference was much stronger. Not this year though.
