Big Sky All Conference

This shits just too funny to get mad at. WTH else does Olsen have to do? Play QB I guess?

Next year maybe he will get the Butkus, Buchanan, and 2nd team all conference...

Dante's snub is classic bsc. It shouldn't surprise anyone. It's the f***[*] bsc.

#bsc.

PR, please move this to the proper thread. Or should we just merge the two threads?

I have long advocated for Growler to have his own thread on egriz (and he couldn't post anywhere else on egriz). Perhaps Everett could be given his how thread too, to bash the Big Sky.

That's awesome. Big Sky is just awful at some things...
Is there a list of the some things at which they aren't awful?

Wow, Dante Olson got effed IMO on the defensive player of the year. They love to give that one to a team who won the conference or is going to playoffs

I’m an ewu homer and I’m shocked by this...Olson is a freakin stud
For some reason he wasn't good enough to get any D playing time last year as a RS Soph. Figure. You will get a better look at him next year.

Make a run in the playoffs Eagles!

Dante Olsen: played in all 11 games, had 38 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack

I'd say he got some playing time. Oh, and the guys starting? They did ok too...

James Banks 111 tackles (most in conference), 15.5 TFL, 4 sacks
Conner Strahm 88 tackles (IN NINE GAMES, 8th in conference), 11 TFL, 1 sack
Josh Buss 94 tackles (4th in conference), 13.5 TFL, 5 sacks

Haha glad you posted that as I was just scratching my head thinking Kem is off his meds again and that Dante played in every single game.

Dante Olson
151 tackles, 11 TFL for 55 yards, 6 sacks for 43 yards, 2 INT, 3 forced fumbles

Jay-Tee Tiuli
29 tackles, 6.5 TFL for 36 yards, 4 sacks for 30 yards, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery

You tell me where Olson wasn't better! Not only that, he wasn't even unanimous 1st team! What a hose job.

Wow so averaging around two and a half tackles a game is worthy of big sky defensive player of year when Olson topped 30 tackles in two games. All the other stats favored Olson too what a shame. Kind of makes these awards pointless.

And nothing against Anderson he's an awesome football player and running qb but his passing is average at best. What a joke.

Weber had 8 dudes on first team defense. That’s insane. I actually thought the two best defensive players I saw this year were Olson and the MLB for Weber.

This is easy to explain. The All Conference Team is selected by the coaches. Jay-Tee Tiuli must have impressed the coaches.

And Olson didn't? The selection of the EWU guy is a total joke. I hope the guy is at least good. Never heard of him. Had essentially zero stats.

I think he must have been really good in the 3 or 4 games he apparently played. He only had about 120 fewer tackles than Olson, but made up for it with only slightly fewer sacks, TFLs, INTs, and fumbles forced. Pretty impressive in only limited action.

I think most of the coaches were projecting the 100 additional tackles and 10 sacks if he would have played against UM's OLine. :thumb:

That may be. But 29 tackles is still pretty good for three games. I can see why he got the award.

I get it, coaches really aren't qualified to vote for the best players they had to prepare for. I think it's a conspiracy against UM.

To be fair, they only had to prepare for Jay-Lee Tuuti for three games. Fearsome in those three. Give the man his hardware.
